Job Description:

This job is responsible for leading the most complex technical designs that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. Key responsibilities include facilitating deployment of the most complex technical solutions by developing templates, playbooks and automation used during implementation. Job expectations include consistently looking for opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency of implementing the services, and influencing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Market Data Technology & Services (MDT&S), is a function within Application Production Services & Engineering, responsible for the full product lifecycle for News, Real-time, Reference and Index data across the firm.

Organized globally MDT&S consists of the following departments:

  • Business Advisory & Inventory management
  • Technical Engineering & Development
  • Technical Operations
  • Service Delivery

Engineering & Development are responsible for the architecture and development of market data technologies deployed at the firm. The team's goal is to provide a reliable managed market data service that can be used by business groups to facilitate the dissemination of pricing data globally in the firm.

The new hire will be a senior member of the Market Data Engineering team and will play a key role in designing and deploying technology solutions to meet business and enterprise requirements.

The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience in market data technologies. The position will involve working closely with senior technologists from the engineering, operations and development communities, so excellent communication and technical skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
  • Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes and contributes to the technology strategy for end-to-end engineering solutions and provides feedback to the architecture teams
  • Translates business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
  • Participates in various steering committees for technical and infrastructure service domains
  • Leads the evaluation of reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Mentors and guides team members to ensure system design technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and help to resolve organizational impediments/blockers

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of combined Technology and Market Data experience in an Enterprise environment
  • Demonstrates strong technical credibility
  • Knowledge of Market Data and related infrastructure technologies (e.g. TREP/RTDS, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Unix, Linux, Networking)
  • Experience in the design and deployment of large-scale Market Data/technology solutions
  • Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating environments
  • Excellent scripting ability (Bash, Python)
  • Good knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast, Routing Protocols, Security)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to programming to market data APIs (RFA, RT-SDK, Bloomberg etc)
  • Facilitating and managing change - experience of Market Data delivery projects or components of change programs
  • Providing 3rd level support as the highest level of internal technical escalation
  • Experience of undertaking beta testing and feedback programs with key vendors
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in a technical or engineering discipline
  • Experience with direct exchange feeds and feed handling technologies
  • Programming in a core language (C++, Java, Python)
  • CI/CD Tooling (Git, Jira, Ansible)
  • Understanding of RESTful principles, best practices and related technologies

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$150,000.00 - $190,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
