Process Overview

GWIM Independent Testing, as a second line of defense function, is involved with confirm transactions and/or validation of documentation in the GWIM space. The purpose of the testing is to evaluate the validity and quality of the information used in the original transaction/instance and to protect Bank of America against fraud and misrepresentation & is required by investors/insurers and the bank.

Job Description


The job function is to perform compliance testing using various data sources to support onboarding and multiple reviews for different lines of businesses. The Testing Analyst, under direct supervision, conducts independent transactional and process testing on a team in support of identified needs. The Testing Analyst may be accountable for accurate and timely testing execution and/or support activities related to a Wealth Management testing, in addition to reporting and analysis of results. This role may participate and collaborate in test script development and test design. This role is an individual contributor in the Test Execution function.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve transaction/distribution using various data sources to support reviews as per scripts

• Accountable for accurate and timely test execution and/or support activities related to a Testing Functional area

• Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and SMEs to conduct testing

• Daily responsibilities of this position include execution of test scripts, identifying and documenting defects and providing daily updates to test leads and managers as needed.

• Adhere to documented SLAs, Shift schedules and maintain on-time delivery of services.

• Adhere to the productivity & accuracy target on cross trained functions.

Requirements


Education

Any bachelor's degree

Experience Range


15+ years of experience. Extensive functional/process knowledge of the Wealth management businesses (i.e. Private Banking, Retirements Planning & Wealth Services, Investment Solutions group) is required.

Foundational skills

  • Detailed knowledge of various Investment productions (401k, Mutual Funds, Equities and ETF)
  • Knowledge on Regulations and laws not limited to LRR (Volker, Reg Z, Reg O, FINRA)
  • Understands the exact requirements of the LRR as per the Regulation type/category and impact of non-compliance.
  • Understands the end-to-end lifecycle of various Wealth management Products including Trade, Clearing & Settlement
  • Knowledge to analyze Balance Sheets, Income statements, and investing activities.
  • Can explain the differences between common Mutual funds, Portfolio management, ETFs, and Investment management.
  • Knows about the forms and documents require.
  • Knows basic eligibility criteria like threshold limits.
  • Attention to detail while performing Customer due diligence.
  • Risk Tolerance in different products
  • Responsible for Data Capturing, Process Documentations, Data Retention
  • Execute, organize, and prioritize testing in a timely manner ensuring monthly deliverables are achieved while maintaining target accuracy ratios.
  • Maintain good connect with LOB partners and able to handle Issues and Escalations independently.
  • Preparation of results reports and dashboards, presentation for senior management and leadership team.
  • Validate the current risk and compliance procedures and identify probable gaps and issues in the existing procedures.
  • Manage Operations team and work as a mentor to the team for various business and technical acumen.
  • Risk control mindset with the ability to formulate and communicate best practices.
  • Ability to multi-task and easily transition between testing assignments.
