Process Overview:

Global Banking & Markets division serves mid- to large-sized corporations and institutional clients worldwide. It is comprised of Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking, Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets and Wholesale Credit. Aligned with these client-facing groups are Global Capital Markets and Global Research. The Shared Technology Platforms is a portfolio under the GBAMT Strategy, Architecture and Core Platforms portfolio. The portfolio is responsible for designing, building and maintaining high performing software systems that are used by the Global Banking and Markets Technology employees globally. These are Technology for Technology tools that cater to varying project management needs including but not limited to forecasting, hiring, resource lifecycle management etc

Job Description

The role will be part of the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Technology (GCIBT) APAC team. GCIBT is a technology service delivery organization supporting the Global Banking and Markets business in Asia Pacific for Bank of America.

Bank of America is embarking on a multi-year core banking transformation journey to replace its legacy core banking platform with modern technology platforms. As part of the core banking platform transformation, the bank will seek opportunities to revamp & improve its end to end ecosystem to improve operational & technological efficiency. The core banking platforms support multiple functions in Global Banking and Markets business: e.g. payments, deposits, credit, trade finance, foreign exchange, general ledger.

Responsibilities:

  • Help business and operations to identify and formulate change needs and Business Cases.
  • Assess the impact and scope of the change
  • Analyze, negotiate, and ascertain technical feasibility of requirements for a given project.
  • Develop complete and accurate business models including process, data.
  • Ensure IT and Operational teams fully understand the requirements, scope and objectives through full collaboration and interactive process during the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise between the business units, technology teams, delivery and support teams to arrive at optimal solutions. Facilitate Walkthroughs for requirement and solution assessments.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Developers and Subject Matter Experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Assist in the production of RFIs and RFPs when tendering to vendors and external suppliers, and in the subsequent review and selection.
  • Actively involved in generating project estimates at various stages of the SDLC.
  • Ensure the requirements are delivered by IT and/or vendors as specified. The development lifecycle is an iterative one and the Business Analyst must be involved from initial concept through to final implementation tracking that the design, build, testing and implementation meet the business product, functional, operational and performance requirements.
  • Assist Test Managers in formulating Test Strategy for the various test phases.
  • Review of Test Packs to ensure maximum coverage of functional requirements.
  • Generation of Non-Functional requirements
  • Ability to understand the infrastructure and technical stack requirements to support proposed solutions.
  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process which incorporates Requirement Gathering, Analysis, Design, Developing, Testing, and implementing life cycle utilizing approaches like Agile, SCRUM and Test - Driven Development.
  • Participate daily SCRUM/Kanban meeting and demo with management and other teams.
  • Work closely with Operations team and give demos on the work items being developed.
  • Co-ordinate with SIT & UAT teams for the test execution and fix the issues on priority basis.
  • Plan the deployment activities for SIT, UAT, PROD and BCP environments.
  • Work closely with DevOps to plan the releases and escalate any potential stability issues.
  • Plan the performance test activities for the newly implemented changes.
  • Create/enhance technical procedures, adopting best practice guidelines, standards, and procedures.

Requirements:

Education: B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA

Certifications (if any): Corporate Banking, Payments, Trade Finance

Experience Range: 08 to 10+ years

Foundational Skills:

The Technology Business Analyst is responsible for documenting business and functional requirements, including filed mappings, process and data flows, business logic and rules, and use cases/ stories and support delivery of migration based projects predominantly in payments domain (ISO20022 and related standards) potentially spanning multiple departments within a single business unit.

  • Minimum 12plus years of strong Technical Business Analyst experience predominantly in Payments domain and ISO20022 migration projects.
  • Experience in managing ISO20022 adoption, Swift, Sanctions and payments value chain and sound understanding of APAC ISO clearings schemes.
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, hands-on Technical Business Analyst with experience in creating/refining business and functional requirements, data analysis, and documentation of existing systems and processes.
  • Payment and Core banking domain experience.
  • Extensive experience in payment migration projects (ISO20022 and related standards)
  • Strong quantitative skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and independently in fast paced environment.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills; Analyze existing capabilities and identify priority gaps and opportunities.
  • Leverage their experience and understanding of stakeholder needs to help create a solution, envisions the solution to solve a problem (manual or through software)
  • Gathers & catalogs functional, non-functional, and technical requirements for stakeholder requests.
  • Determines the impact of modifications and enhancements on the application.
  • Acts as the product(s) subject matter expert to support scope and requirement decisions
  • Ensures changes to the application are compliant with bank standards and policies.
  • Liaises with business partners to build the business requirement documents and coordinate approval and concurrence. Document and review HLD and hold good knowledge on NFR.
  • Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects.
  • Work on enhancement projects that improve the operational landscape for the Global Transaction Services, as well as internal company projects that enhance Straight Through Processing
  • The candidate should be comfortable in an environment with mixed delivery methodologies depending on the project (Agile, Waterfall) and able to adapt to new technologies, products and processes quickly.
  • Document business and functional requirements, including process and data flows, business logic and rules, and use cases/ stories.
  • Support executive requests for reports etc.
  • Liaise with global project teams consisting of business sponsors, developers, designers and testers.
  • Work closely with UX team to design new features and components
  • Manage deliverables and priorities with management and business stakeholders
  • Coordinate and conduct testing cycles; acceptance criteria, unit testing, QA and user acceptance testing.
  • Support production delivery rollouts on release weekends

  • Consulting mind-set with aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of the Wholesale Banking domain: e.g. deposits, payments, receivables, liquidity management, accounting, credit management, FX.
  • Experience working with Agile teams.
  • Ability to capture and articulate clear, unambiguous detailed functional requirements to both Business and Technical users.
  • Ability to take a high-level design and define/drive the low level solution design with both Business and Technical users
