Job Description:
This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of key features in an Agile scrum environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and product owners, to define, design and ship new features.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring best practices in software development.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Applies enterprise standards to deliver of high-quality code that meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Manage feature scope, quality, and timelines to ensure successful delivery within planned sprints.
  • Guides the team on work breakdown and execution.
  • Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team.
  • Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)
  • Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt.
  • Oversee the implementation of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Utilize and promote the use of automated build and deployment tools (e.g. Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket)
  • Manage dependencies, resolve conflicts, and communicate risks and progress to stakeholders.
  • Ensure code quality through regular code reviews, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration.
  • Coordinate with DevOps for environment setup, deployment, and support activities.

Education: BE, BTech, MCA

Experience Range: 10 to 12 years

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in Java, J2EE, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies like JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, and Angular.
  • In-Dept knowledge of Spring Framework, Hibernate, and MVC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience in Spring boot architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Microservices architecture and development.
  • Expertise in RESTful API development and integration with SOAP web services.
  • Experience in using build tools like Maven and managing applications on WebLogic servers.
  • Proficiency in UNIX Shell scripting and Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Strong understanding of database design principles and experience with database management.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Bitbucket) and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of scheduling and automation tools like Autosys.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum teams and familiarity with Agile methodologies

Desired Skills

  • Experience in legacy Java web-based application migration to latest Java technologies
  • Experience in containerization
  • Business Intelligence tool like Micro-Strategy, Tableau or Cognos

Certifications: Good to have relevant certifications in Java, Oracle or other required skills
