This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements.
  • Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities.
  • Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements.
  • Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause.
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.

Cribl Engineer Job Description:

Software Engineer responsible for working on large, on-premises, distributed, HA deployments which are mission-critical. This includes being a part of 24/7 on-call rotations for escalation and the handling of escalation incidents from Operations. Will work on migration of feeds from rsyslog to Cribl, on-board new feeds, and handle L3 troubleshooting. Working with vendors on open tickets as well as working in an Agile environment and with enterprise change control systems. Must be comfortable in a command-line environment. Must also have the ability to read and create regex expressions and to understand load-balancing, DNS.

Required Skills:

  • Splunk 4+ years in an enterprise environment preferably financial services.
  • Cribl Experience - Experience with Cribl Stream in a distributed on-premises environment.
  • CCOE Admin Certification
  • Support of Cribl in a large enterprise environment.
  • Handling of Level 3 support issues (Including technical issues involving in-depth knowledge of system architecture, network configurations, and advanced troubleshooting.)
  • Agile Practices - Scrum and Backlog refinement.
  • 24/7 On-Call rotations including weekends.

Desired Skills:

  • Cribl Edge
  • Good knowledge of rsyslog
  • Regex - Creating Regex expressions.
