Role Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the newly formed EMEA Global Markets COO team which is responsible for executing and delivering our strategy for Global Markets businesses in EMEA as well as end to-end solutions to regulatory engagement.
The team:
Team members act as project managers and thought leaders for large strategic and regulatory projects that impact EMEA GM. These can involve all parts of GM including Sales, Trading, as well as related teams in Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations and Technology, both in the region and more globally. These projects are typically high profile and involve a high degree of strategic problem solving to ensure regulatory and/or commercial viability.
Responsibilities:
As part of the EMEA GM COO team, this role will cover strategic and regulatory initiatives, which may include:
- Experience in a trading related function, familiarity with booking systems and risk engines
- Project management, both on an end-to-end basis, and/or discrete sub-components
- Ensure appropriate control frameworks are established by working with relevant teams, support, and control partners
- Running or supporting governance routines to facilitate key deliverables
- Supporting or reviewing underlying legal/regulatory requirements with key stakeholders to determine business impact and appropriate response
- Preparedness to challenge interpretations to ensure commercial and regulatory considerations are balanced
- Collaborating with Business, Compliance and Legal teams to design and deliver training on key regulations / strategic projects
- Delivering process walkthroughs, and appropriate 'audit trail' on project work
- Support or lead on key regional and global initiatives to ensure consistency and to identify/resolve any overlaps or conflicting guidance by business/jurisdiction
What We Are Looking For:
- Ability to think strategically and join the dots across regions and businesses
- Experience of Project Management and knowledge of how programs run
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
- Experience of working with technical teams and translating technical concepts to business audiences
- Critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work well in collaborative team environment, but also independently run initiatives
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple competing/concurrent activities.
- High proficiency in data aggregation, integration, and analysis
Skills That Will Help
- Familiarity with Global Markets businesses (Fixed Income Currency and Commodities, Equities, Prime Brokerage, Futures & Options, etc...)
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point
