Job Description:
Utilizes thorough knowledge and understanding of product and trade life cycle flow. Responsible for end to end daily P&L and B/S production processes. Performs ledger closings of books during month end, posts journal entries, prepares and may review FOBO reconciliation between systems. Coordinates and resolves any system discrepancies. Produces daily reports and adheres to controls. Supports projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Daily P&L reporting and support for the Equities business in Latin America;
  • Provides breakdown and analysis of the daily P&L;
  • Front-to-Back position and reconciliations, review of new deals, market prices & curves, transaction life-cycles;
  • Balance Sheet report and analysis;
  • LOB expenses analysis;
  • Performs ledger closing of books during month end;
  • Month end / quarter end responsibilities and reporting requirements;
  • Work alongside other Finance, Ops, Risk and support teams;
  • Builds and enhances process controls using new technologies and automation tools;
  • Support development of new business initiatives or products from a Business Finance Control perspective;
  • Propose process and system enhancements in order to ensure an efficient, effective, robust, centralized and scalable target control operating model in the bank;
  • Assist in ad hoc requests from finance management and business.

Core skills and requirements

  • Experience in Product Control, Middle-Office, Financial Control, Market Risk or Operations roles in investment banks with deep knowledge of derivatives products, balance sheet, profit & loss and market risk;
  • Good knowledge of Equities products, balance sheet, accounting concepts and internal funding allocation methodologies;
  • High level of numeracy and proficiency in financial mathematics of finance products;
  • Graduated with degree obtained from Accounting, Business Administration; Economics ,Engineering, Mathematics, Physics , Computer Science or similar;
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken);
  • Strong ability in Excel and programming will be a plus;
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills to make sound and independent judgment and decisions under rapidly changing and often stressful environment;
  • Attention to details and number accuracy
  • Highly motivated, pro-active, self-starter, multi-tasking and committed to getting the job done;
  • Comfortable with complex and challenging environment;
  • Team player with multicultural sensitivity and analytical mindset over interactions with peers in other countries and divisions;
