Responsibilities

  • Participate in design, development, and implementation of system engineering activities, to include OS technical support, system programming and data center capabilities.
  • Participate in Linux virtual and physical builds, upgrades, patching, and support.
  • Create technical scripts and documentation to streamline delivery of servers for clients.
  • Assess components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Provide advanced troubleshooting to the team on configuration issues and errors to ensure platform stability and vulnerability avoidance.
  • Install, configure, and maintain RedHat enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9 operating systems by using ansible and shell scripts for custom configurations, package installations, and performance tuning.
  • Install and configure high availability cluster solutions using RedHat Pacemaker, Oracle RAC, and Veritas to provide clients with resilient, always on solutions for business-critical applications.
  • Set up and configure HP, Dell, and IBM rack mount x86 servers including configuring BIOS, RAID, ILO, IDRAC, IMM Firmware, and OS installation, to meet security baseline requirements and client performance needs.
  • Install, configure and use Satellite or puppet to automate the deployment and management of Linux servers to decrease time to market for custom client solutions.
  • Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering (any), Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related; and
  • 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
  • Must include 4 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining RedHat enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9 operating systems by using ansible and shell scripts for custom configurations, package installations, and performance tuning;
  • Installing and configuring high availability cluster solutions using RedHat Pacemaker, Oracle RAC, and Veritas to provide clients with resilient, always on solutions for business-critical applications;
  • Setting up and configuring HP, Dell, and IBM rack mount x86 servers including configuring BIOS, RAID, ILO, IDRAC, IMM Firmware, and OS installation, to meet security baseline requirements and client performance needs; and,
  • Installing, configuring and using Satellite or puppet to automate the deployment and management of Linux servers to decrease time to market for custom client solutions.
  • In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree and 2 years of experience.
