Job Description

The Senior UI Designer (Contract) reports directly to the Senior Interactive Art Director and works closely with the Product, Tech, and eCommerce teams to enhance website visuals and interactivity, ensuring digital platforms effectively communicate brand identity and product offerings to shoppers by understanding customer needs and business goals, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and independently managing UI priorities and projects.

What you'll be doing:

Design Production

1. Develop a deep understanding of the brand, products, and users to create high-quality designs aligned with brand guidelines.
2. Design icons and graphic assets for use across multiple digital channels.
3. Generate and refine visual concepts through brainstorming, sketching, and mock-ups to meet design requirements.
4. Deliver final UI designs with detailed specifications for developers.

Design Iteration and Collaboration

1. Partner with Product Managers & eCommerce teams to hypothesize, test, and measure success of the product, leveraging current tools & technologies.  
2. Translate your hypothesis, based on business results and testing, into concepts and requirements, delivering user flows, customer journey, wireframes, comps and prototypes. 
3. Collaborate with UX Researchers to support testing and iterations of design solutions.

User-Centered Approach and Consistency

1. Maintain and refine style guides and pattern libraries while ensuring consistent implementation across all designs.
2. Analyze customer goals, business requirements, and technical constraints to align designs with project parameters.
3. Champion design principles, user needs, and accessibility best practices and articulate design decisions clearly and effectively.
4. Manage multiple priorities and projects under tight deadlines, working independently or in collaboration with the design team.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

What you bring to the table:

• Undergraduate degree in Web/Graphic Design or have equivalent experience
• 6 years of relevant experience in UI or UX design
• An online portfolio (please specify which work was created 100% by you vs. by a team) 
• Proficient in Figma, Photoshop, and Illustrator with the ability to produce organized files with sensible layer structures and naming  
• A user-centric approach to design with a passion for typography, color, and grid layouts and eye for details
• Competency with HTML and CSS  
• Ability to articulate design decisions and ability to accept creative feedback

Location: The Senior UI Designer (Contract) position is a work-from-home position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only.

Our must-haves:

• Must have a back-up laptop or desktop for use, if primary laptop encounters issues.
• Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 10MBPS.
• Must have a back-up internet connection of the same speed, if primary connection becomes spotty.

Duration: This post will run for three (3) months only.

Status: This is a contractual position with no benefits included.

Hardware Provision: Company-issued Laptop will not be provided.
