Senior Payroll Specialist

Frankfurt, Germany

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing efficient Payroll services for employees in the Central region. The specialist oversees the development, implementation, and administration of cost-effective Payroll processes across these corporate entities. The specialist also actively participates in the Global Shared Services Center, supporting company initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end payroll processes for our Central region employees.
  • Review and validate payroll inputs, including salaries, benefits, allowances, and deductions.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior payroll staff, resolving complex payroll-related issues and queries.
  • Coordinate year-end payroll processes
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees, addressing concerns and providing accurate information.
  • Conduct periodic payroll reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
  • Liaise with external auditors and government agencies for payroll-related audits and compliance checks.
  • Stay updated with changes in payroll legislation, tax rates, and statutory requirements
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of payroll system upgrades or enhancements.

Skills

  • Knowledge of relevant laws governing German Payroll (e.g., tax, withholding and wage garnishment)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities. Is required to analyse issues and create action plans
  • Track record of building solid relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners ( experience working with external providers is a plus)
  • Knowledge of relevant software (MS Office) with good working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Experience in working in a multilateral, multinational team

Requirements:

  • 3 years of proven Payroll Management experience in an international environment.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and German
