Avanade is seeking for highly skilled and motivated Cyber Defense (Senior) Consultants/Specialists to join our dynamic security team. This role focusses on transformation projects within the Cyber Defense space where the candidate drives from design to implementation, to help our clients protect their critical assets and data using Microsoft security technologies and best practices. Our ideal candidates possesses both soft and technical skills as you will be engaging with clients directly, have strong understanding of cyber security principles and have hands-on experience.

As a Cyber Defense Consultant, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape our clients' secure digital future. You will be advising clients on best practices and strategies for securing their (cloud) environments, implement solutions that address complex security challenges, problem-solve to ensure robust and resilient security architectures, provide technical consulting on a wide range of security topics including Defender Engineering, Log analytics, Alert engineering, Threat monitoring, Detection and response, Security operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive security solutions. You'll become part of our dynamic security practice, where you'll have the opportunity to work with both Avanade and Accenture clients, ranging from medium to large global enterprises. What you'll do
* Threat Detection and Response: Design and implement security systems (SIEM, EDR, etc.) for suspicious activity, analyze alerts, and lead incident response efforts. This includes containment, eradication, and post-incident analysis.
* Security Infrastructure Management: Design, implement and optimize Microsoft security tools and platforms, including but not limited to:
* Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
* Microsoft Defender for Office 365
* Microsoft Azure Security Center/Defender for Cloud
* Microsoft Sentinel
* Azure Active Directory Identity Protection
* Intune/Endpoint Manager
* Vulnerability Management: Understand and translate vulnerability scans, assess risk, and consult with the client how to remediate identified weaknesses. Utilize Microsoft vulnerability scanning tools and integrate with other vulnerability management platforms.
* Security Hardening: Design, implement and improve security configurations for Microsoft Windows servers, workstations, cloud resources (Azure), and other relevant systems. Develop and enforce security baselines and best practices.
* Security Automation: Knowledge about automation scripts and tools to improve security operations efficiency and effectiveness. Leverage PowerShell, Azure Logic Apps, or other scripting languages as appropriate.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and other security professionals to ensure a coordinated and effective security posture. Communicate security incidents and findings clearly and concisely.
Skills and experiences
* Experience in consulting and client advisory roles.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively within teams and take initiative independently.
* Technical expertise in Microsoft Cloud Security technologies.
* In-depth understanding of Security, Incident, and Event Management solutions.
* In depth understanding of Log structures, alert engineering,
* Experience with IT Security operations, threat monitoring, detection, and response
* Familiarity with Cloud Migration challenges and current industry trends.
* Strong skills in creative problem-solving and risk management.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
About you
* 2-5 years of foundational experience in the Security technology industry.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel and general Microsoft (Azure) security offerings.
* Experience with security and cloud standards such as ISO2717, NIST, CIS, Azure Benchmark, etc.
* Technical expertise in Microsoft Security and Compliance tools like Microsoft Sentinel and Defender
* Familiarity with Azure ecosystem and security baseline configurations.
* Big interest in IT Security operations, threat monitoring, detection, and response
* Proficiency in consulting practices including stakeholder engagement and documentation.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
* Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF), and best practices.
* Hands-on experience with Microsoft security tools and platforms listed in the above section.
* Experience with incident response, vulnerability management, and security hardening.
* Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) are highly desirable.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CCSP or CISSP) are a plus.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
