Position Overview
The Purchasing, Programs, and Operations (PPO) team at Autodesk is looking for a Senior Manager to drive transformation and automation across Finance. This position focuses on scaling digitization efforts through citizen development, training on productivity tools, and collaborating across finance, engineering, and development teams. This role is ideal for an experienced leader with expertise in Finance automation, product management, data strategy, and change management.

The Senior Manager reports to the Director of Automation & Programs, manages a team of three, and works with teammates across the globe. Travel up to 10-15% of the time for face-to-face meetings like conferences and team offsites.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership - Define, evangelize, and continuously evolve the vision and strategy for the Future of Finance Touchless Transactions pillar and the PPO Automation team, identify new areas of impact through market and user research and define OKRs necessary to land quantifiable business outcomes
  • Process Improvement - Drive process improvement and value stream mapping to identify opportunities for enhancement and automation, transforming insights into a roadmap to foster continuous improvement
  • Collaboration - Partner with cross-functional teams on the evaluation, selection, and prioritization of new process improvement and automation opportunities
  • People Management- Manage a team of solution architects, process improvement analysts, and automation analysts, fostering growth through mentorship and feedback
  • Training- Deliver and scale process improvement and automation training across Finance, enabling employees to embrace automation tools and practices, contributing to upskilling across the Finance organization
  • Citizen Development- Drive Finance citizen development strategies aligned with Autodesk's Future of Finance vision, providing process mapping, governance, and automation consulting support to empower Finance to implement and scale automation with the necessary expertise and guardrails
  • Risk Management - Collaborate with Audit and Advisory Services to assess and mitigate risks in automations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and Autodesk guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field
  • 8+ years of experience in data insights or analytical fields such as product management, data analysis, or business analysis
  • At least 4 years of leadership experience managing teams
  • Experience driving strategy, vision, and implementation of automation and digitization, including citizen development enablement, within a large organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate information to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Expertise in automation technologies such as SQL, Alteryx, PowerBI, Power Automate, Airtable, Smartsheet; familiarity with GenAI and other emerging technologies
  • Strong project management, change management, analytical skills, and ability to influence across levels

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and an aptitude for problem-solving in a matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder initiatives and facilitating cross-functional collaboration
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, fostering a culture of innovation and operational efficiency in Finance
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional development teams
  • Managers of consultative/advisory Professional roles
  • Manages work primarily through managerial staff and are typically responsible for a mix of multiple related teams and senior-level (advanced/expert) individual professionals
  • Operate with far more independence than a Manager
  • Typically receive high-level guidance (but not close oversight) from Director+ leaders
  • Develop and implement long-term operational plans with financial and organizational components
  • Contribute to broader strategies relevant to their own discipline
  • More frequently address areas for which procedures are not established and for which approaches must be defined and/or adapted significantly

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $156,200 and $252,560. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
