Position Overview

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you'll work with leaders in engineering, product, and design to manage efforts to make our products more reliable, secure, and trustworthy for customers. You'll lead programs and projects across our globally distributed 800+ person R&D organization, acting as the glue that holds them together and drives them to the finish line. Excellent collaboration and communication with other product teams and stakeholders within Construction R&D, as well as in other areas of the organization, will be critical for your success. This will ensure that dependencies are understood and managed effectively, and any overlaps discovered are resolved across the Autodesk construction products ecosystem.

You'll act as a central point of contact for our Centers of Excellence (COEs), helping them understand and adopt organizational standards and practices. These practices will enable teams to track their progress, collaborate across COEs, and gain insight into improving efficiency. Additionally, you'll work with the COEs to develop tailored processes that help deliver business objectives and continually improve our collective ways of working.

A great program manager will be highly organized, communicative, and detail-oriented, with a sharp focus on on-time delivery and efficiency at all organizational levels. Effectively driving responses and actions from a diverse group of stakeholders will be crucial for the success of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively lead programs and projects to ensure successful delivery and outcomes, leveraging expertise in planning and coordination
  • Build and maintain timelines, project plans, and communication artifacts (e.g., dashboard reports, and visual documents) to ensure everyone works with the most accurate and up-to-date information
  • Track and report performance metrics - conduct regular audits of project schedules and task tracking, ensuring this information is integrated into weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting cadences
  • Independently identify project risks and blockers, and proactively pursue mitigation and remediation actions
  • Identify decisions required to move a project forward, determine the decision-makers, and ensure decisions are made and properly documented
  • Ensure effective collaboration and communication across product teams within the Construction Solutions organization and Autodesk, as well as within the Technical Program Management team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company
  • Own, contribute to, and socialize best practices and tooling standards to improve productivity, communication, and documentation across the R&D organization and with fellow TPMs
  • Effectively coach product development leads on how to manage project communications and updates independently for projects not directly overseen by the TPM

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience managing complex software projects across multiple teams
  • Strong background in software development is essential, with knowledge of ERP integrations and experience supporting products on their end-of-life journey being advantageous
  • Familiarity with standard software engineering methodologies, lifecycles, and development practices, with the ability to apply the appropriate framework to a team's needs
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects with teams that are remote and/or globally dispersed
  • A collaborative team player and diplomat with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Whether in conversation or email, you communicate thoughtfully and clearly
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

  • When you notice something awry, you take action. Being proactive and taking the initiative come naturally to you, and you enjoy bringing organization to chaos
  • You have exceptional time management, organizational, and scheduling skills. Your friends might even believe you have a flying DeLorean parked somewhere
  • Skilled at managing dependencies with teams that have different priorities
