Responsibilities: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Designing software solutions and flowcharts to create new software programs and systems and document technical designs. Producing efficient and elegant code based on project requirements that meets customer needs. Testing and deploying programs and applications to production environment. Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software and fixing issues in time to ensure customer satisfaction. Compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance and quality. Observing user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software products. Collaborating with management, colleagues, and customers to identify and understand end-user requirements and specifications. Working with architect, tech lead, product owner, scrum master and QA to deliver high quality Autodesk Inventor releases that meet all the release criteria, by collaborating on requirement analysis, software design discussions, project schedule alignment, dependency tracking and test plan creation. Develop and maintain automation test for Autodesk Inventor; strive to automate testing and ensure code coverage as much as possible for new code changes. Ensure new code conforms to established coding standards and meets design specification, and passed all automation and applicable manual testing, and peer code reviews. Participate code reviews for others to help the team deliver high quality projects. Document software design solutions and pros/cons considerations, new code and features developed, including changes to existing code, to help others in the team understand the changes for future software maintenance.

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of Autodesk's Atlanta, GA office. Some telecommuting is permitted.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineering-related occupation.

Special Requirements:

The position also requires at least 2 years of experience with the following skills:

  • Design and develop Windows desktop application using C++
  • Familiar with software design patterns and able to recognize specific design pattern in existing code, apply appropriate design pattern to meet project requirements
  • Develop and maintain unit test, create automation test for both new and existing code
  • Familiar with Agile software development process and understand how to work within a scrum team to deliver high quality software projects

The position also requires some experience with the following skill:

  • Debug and triage Windows desktop application issues by using Visual Studio

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $116,800 - $160,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
