Position Overview
Experience Researchers at Autodesk are relentless customer advocates, possessing a passion for human-centered design, and having a track record of planning and executing highly impactful research with cross-functional teams. Our Experience Researchers leverage a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods and work in lockstep with their PM, XD and Business partners to envision, validate, and ship high-quality experiences our customers will love.
This role will join the Experience Research team for Autodesk's manufacturing products, reporting directly to the Director of Experience Research. Responsibilities for this position will cover strategic projects that create cohesive and scalable customer experiences in a variety of manufacturing products and services.

The researcher will conduct formative research to understand customer workflows holistically, synthesizing that research to inform product strategy. In addition to top-notch research skills, this position requires a strategic mindset and the ability to collaborate with global teams across the company. The ideal candidate must be able to influence stakeholders through strong partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Proactively plan and execute customer research throughout the strategy, design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validation
- Design and employ a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including semi-structured interviews, surveys, contextual inquiries, participatory design, diary studies, usability studies, along with re-analyzing existing data
- Develop relationships with stakeholders across the company to collect existing research and insights to inform your research questions and collaborate on end-to-end research that looks across the customer journey
- Lead design-thinking workshops with cross-functional teams to ensure that findings and insights are translated into actionable product goals and direction
- Share customer insights with the broader organization in creative ways to increase customer empathy
- Work as an active member of the larger User Research team to drive standards and best practices for qualitative and quantitative data
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional research experience
- Strong track record of qualitative and quantitative results impacting product strategy and development
- Up-to-date toolkit of research methods, and the experience and savvy to know when to be lean and scrappy and when to be rigorous
- Ability to collaborate with a wide set of stakeholders including designers, product managers, and marketing teams
- Ability to execute in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas to their essence
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with manufacturing or PLM products and services
- Experience researching multichannel experiences
- Experience with agile software development
- Experience with Autodesk products
