Responsibilities:

As Senior Software Engineer in Test, encompasses responsibilities of developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test scripts, design and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios, leveraging extensive experience to identify potential areas of improvement, identify risk and build a test strategy. Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software or web developers. Create and maintain databases of known defects. May participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and schedules. Coordinate automation test planning and integration test activities with all the stakeholders. Partner with a Cross-functional Engineering team to investigate, troubleshoot, and identify/implement fixes for customer-facing issues. Develop and document UI and integrated test automation and application framework enhancements in Java and JavaScript technologies. To continuously deploy & to get faster quality feedback implement CI/CD pipeline to run regression testcase against development & integration environment. Participate in code reviews, and design reviews, and provide recommendations for improvements in code quality. Develop automation test scripts for web-based test case & API test cases. Provide recommendations on best practices of Quality Assurance. Contribute to technical leadership and strategic direction to continuously improve the Quality of Engineering Organization.

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a QA engineering-related occupation.

In lieu of a Master's degree and 3 years of experience, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a QA engineering-related occupation.

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Special Requirements: Position requires at least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Collaborate with a Cross-functional Engineering team to investigate, troubleshoot, and identify/implement fixes for customer-facing applications.
  • Adapt to changing requirements, work independently and multi-task on multiple products and projects.
  • Develop automation test scripts for web-based, API and backend test cases using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, REST Assured, SQL queries, Git source control tool.
  • Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks utilized by the team to automate critical user scenarios for regression testing.
  • Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system Jira and report defects to software or web developers.
  • Document test strategies, test plans, test cases and test data.
  • Work on the Jenkins, AWS CI/CD pipeline to continuously run regression against development & integration environment using AWS EC2 machines.
  • Manage test reports, direct task assignments, and ensure sign-off on product quality.

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $160,139 - $180,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
