Position Overview

Our Trust Software Engineering team is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to define and lead the Platform Integrations team in a fast-paced, agile development environment. You will be at the forefront for defining and driving security-related integrations in collaboration with internal stakeholders. You will bring a wealth of technical expertise and industry experience spanning application security, cloud security, DevSecOps, and CI/CD. The ideal candidate for this role has extensive software engineering experience with a strong technical background, is self-driven, and has the ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop novel, highly innovative solutions to enhance the functionality and integration capabilities of security tools into development pipeline
  • Lead the resolution of complex problems by integrating cross-functional processes and outcomes, ensuring seamless collaboration between product teams and security tool integrations
  • Contribute to the development of the technical roadmap, addressing technical debt and balancing time, resources, and quality constraints
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with product managers, software architects, software engineers, and stakeholders to form technical solutions that align organisational goals with business objectives
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and technologies, and drive continuous improvement in processes, methodologies, and practices
  • Apply continuous attention to technical excellence, secure coding principles, and good design, resulting in straightforward solutions and reduced complexity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on data platforms and infrastructure
  • Expertise in AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and IAM
  • Proficiency in Python programming language
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Strong understanding of containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable and secure data solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other programming languages such as Java or Go
  • Knowledge of secure architecture and design principles, industry standards (NIST SSDF, OWASP) and security best practices

Responsabilités

  • Concevoir et développer des solutions nouvelles et très innovantes pour améliorer les fonctionnalités et les capacités d'intégration des outils de sécurité dans le pipeline de développement
  • Diriger la résolution de problèmes complexes en intégrant des processus et des résultats interfonctionnels, en assurant une collaboration transparente entre les équipes de produits et les intégrations d'outils de sécurité
  • Contribuer à l'élaboration de la feuille de route technique, en s'attaquant à la dette technique et en équilibrant les contraintes de temps, de ressources et de qualité
  • Assurer le leadership technique et le mentorat des ingénieurs logiciels à tous les niveaux, en encourageant une culture de la qualité, de la responsabilité et de l'amélioration continue
  • Collaborer avec les chefs de produit, les architectes logiciels, les ingénieurs logiciels et les parties prenantes pour élaborer des solutions techniques qui alignent les objectifs organisationnels sur les objectifs commerciaux

Qualifications minimales

  • Licence ou master en informatique, ingénierie ou dans un domaine connexe
  • Plus de 10 ans d'expérience en ingénierie logicielle, avec un accent sur les plates-formes de données et l'infrastructure
  • Expertise dans les services AWS, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda et IAM
  • Maîtrise du langage de programmation Python

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $153,600 and $211,200. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
