Position Overview
As the Principal Localization AI Strategist at Autodesk, you will design and develop an innovative AI-based globalization and localization framework. This framework will integrate Machine Translation (MT), AI, and Linguistic Quality Management (LQM) workflows, explore AI-driven localization capabilities in Engineering and Quality Assurance (QA), and drive continuous improvements in MT-AI solutions. As a key member of the Localization team, you will collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, language/AI/tools service providers, and internal stakeholders to expand Autodesk's global reach.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development and integration of MT-AI-LQM workflows
- Explore and adopt emerging AI solutions for globalization and localization to optimize processes for Engineering, QA, and Multimedia functions
- Collect, analyze, and report on MT-AI output quality data, developing and executing quality improvement plans
- Design and implement a new AI-based LQM framework applicable across diverse content and domains
- Establish and implement quality measurement strategies for MT-AI-LQM solutions
- Collaborate with the localization MT-AI Engineering team to incubate future MT-AI-LQM workflow models and evaluate ROI for leadership approval
- Foster cross-functional relationships to advocate for localization best practices and implement technical improvements
- Partner with global stakeholders and language/AI/tools service providers to ensure alignment with language quality requirements

Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the localization industry
- Expertise in MT/MTQE/APE (Machine Translation, quality estimation, evaluation, automated post-editing), language AI domains, and process automation
- Strong technical proficiency in Python programming
- Familiarity with linguistic evaluation metrics for MT quality (e.g., COMET, BLEU, edit distance algorithms, human model evaluation)
- Excellent analytical skills, including experience creating reports and dashboards with tools such as Power BI or Looker
- Extensive experience with localization platforms, linguistic QA tools, Translation Management Systems (TMS), CAT tools, and JIRA
- Ability to focus under pressure while prioritizing and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Proven track record working with high-performance localization teams, effectively managing and resolving issues and escalations
- Exceptional attention to detail, combined with the ability to maintain a holistic view of projects
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global time zones with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Professional-level fluency in English (verbal and written)
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong inclination toward leveraging technology for process improvement and innovation
- A background in NLP (Natural Language Processing), computer science, or an advanced linguistics-related field
- Experience in leadership roles, such as Localization Supplier Management, Language Team Management, or Quality Management
- Native proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Polish, or other languages
