Responsibilities: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Test operating systems-level software and infrastructure tooling, or general computing applications. Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new software or modification or bug fix of an existing software. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Determine system performance standards. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new infrastructure, or upgrade an existing infrastructure and improve performance. Monitor functioning of infrastructure to ensure it operates in conformance with specifications. Confer with customers, data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Confer with systems analysts, customers engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. Coordinate installation of software system. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, or security needs to determine infrastructure configuration. Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Train customers to use new or modified infrastructure. Some telecommuting is permitted.

Minimum education/experience requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a software developer-related occupation. Some telecommuting is permitted.

Skill Requirements: Position requires at least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Experience utilizing Managed Public Cloud AWS services such as Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Security Groups, Route53, Identity& Access Management (IAM), Amazon Machine Images (AMI), Simple Storage Service (S3), Elastic Container Service (ECS), Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) , Traditional Databases such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch and Managed Database Services such as Aurora MySQL, Relational Database Service (RDB), Dynamo DB.
  • Experience utilizing knowledge of Infrastructure as a code (IAAC) and Automate infrastructure setup (IAAC) using Terraform, CloudFormation and Configuration management using Chef, Ansible, Python and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with build, deployment and maintaining, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Git, Jenkins, Bit Bucket, Spinnaker, Argo CD, Sonar, AWS Code build, Code deploy and Code pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, SAM Frameworks, State Machines (Step Function), Systems Manager to reduce the infrastructure and operational costs.
  • Experience with Observability and Alerting tools such as Cloud Watch, New Relic, Grafana to measure and improve system performance.
  • Experience working with distributed logging, searching, and debugging tools such as Elastic Search, Splunk, and Logstash.
  • Experience with all steps involved in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and expertise in Agile application development processes, including Scrum/Kanban, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience with creating test automation framework using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, and Jenkins Test Automation.
  • Experience in ensuring high availability using blue/green or Canary deployments and experience in implementing disaster recovery procedures to ensure the continuity of the system in the event of a failure or outage.
  • Experience organizing Design reviews, Customer workshops, War room troubleshooting, Voice of customer (VOC) analysis, and Root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and address the underlying issues that may arise during the software development lifecycle.

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $181,272 - $245,400/year. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
