Position Overview
We are seeking a Manager of Experience Design (XD) to lead and manage a team of designers working on both customer-focused and employee-focused solutions. This role requires a leader with experience in leading a design team working across time zones and multiple stakeholders. The Manager will work closely with the XD leadership team and will manage designers who have dotted line reporting to other XD leaders. The Manager will focus on XD management at the geography level, growing a team in Bangalore to support the design of high-quality, consistent experiences that align with our users' needs and the company's business objectives. You will focus on people management as your team's local XD management representative.

The Manager will ensure that the XD team is connected to local site development, including a focus on culture. You will become a champion and advocate for the adoption of user-centric processes across our teams. This is a unique opportunity to grow a team within the larger Autodesk design community, leveraging your local network of excellent designers to create a high-performing team that works as a well-integrated part of the GET organization.
Candidates need to demonstrate a successful history of designing user-centric solutions, leading high-performing design teams, and driving team collaboration across organizational and geographic boundaries. Responsibilities
- Manage a team of designers based in Bangalore, India, focusing on people management responsibilities.
- Help team members translate program and project goals to specific employee goals to help them successfully execute their assignments.
- Represent your team at a variety of levels within the org to better improve processes and influence for maximum outcomes, working across worldwide geographies and connected to the greater XD team.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of management experience in XD
- Hands on experience in Figma
- Proven record hiring, growing and managing high-performing design teams
- High degree of confidence working with multiple stakeholders at different levels, in different geographies
- Passion for developing culture and tight sense of community
Preferred Qualifications
- Enterprise Systems and/or Employee Experience design experience
- Experience working on persona-creation, Jobs To Be Done definition, initial prototype creation and full-stack visual design preferred
- Managers of Professional roles - and/or managers of people that manage Support roles
- Typically focused on areas of subject matter expertise within one discipline
- Keep their teams organized, efficient, effective, productive, and motivated through professional leadership techniques
- Responsible for managing deliverables against expected results with a timeline that is typically longer than a quarter
- Focus is more operational, and decisions are typically made within established policies, procedures and objectives
