Position Overview

The Intern, Built Environment Transformation role is an exciting opportunity for future industry and business leaders to gain hands-on experience in an important and evolving focus for sustainability data initiatives - building owners and operators. As a key member of our team, you'll support our Impact Partnership strategy while learning foundational research skills and leveraging industry knowledge that will serve as the building blocks for your future career.

This internship offers the unique chance to gain exposure to both the strategic and operational aspects of business development at a leading tech company, and to make a direct impact by contributing to meaningful projects and by helping execute our partnership strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with your manager throughout the internship program to learn the Autodesk impact strategy, partnership methodology, and to understand industry/customer challenges and value drivers, and engage with current and prospective Autodesk customers


  • Research potential customer partners and collaboration opportunities through outbound efforts such as calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach


  • Track and update account activity using PowerBI, and other business development software (e.g. Airtable and LinkedIn Sales Navigator)


  • Research current industry initiatives and opportunity and applicability for Autodesk involvement


  • Explore partnership opportunities while gaining industry knowledge and business development skills


  • Develop proposals for collective action initiatives with owners and operators toward sustainable outcomes


  • Identify opportunities for influencing building industry standard setting


  • Collaborate with teammates and internal built environment experts to identify top priority partnership opportunities


  • Manage outreach to potential partners by phone, email, Outreach, LinkedIn, etc.


  • Manage a database of leads in PowerBI, efficiently recording key findings and opportunities


  • Perform thorough discovery to learn about the businesses of each partner conversation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a Master's degree or higher in the US with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or later


  • Built Environment knowledge strongly preferred


  • A mix of previous internship, relevant school project, volunteer, and leadership experience


  • Excellent research, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities


  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and a passion for learning


  • An interest in research and business development

About the US Intern Program

The 2025 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 19 - August 8 or June 16 - September 5). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. Our internships align with Autodesk's Flexible Workplace approach, which is designed to meet the needs of our business while providing flexibility in support of office, remote and hybrid work preferences.

Salary Transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate's experience, educational level, and geographic location, and can exceed this range.

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized intern base salary to be between:

  • $47,840 and $95,680 (undergraduate students)
  • $72,800 and $118,500 (Masters/MBA students)
  • $118,560 and $162,240 (PhD students)
