Position Overview
Fusion is the industry-leading cloud-based software for design and manufacturing from Autodesk. The Fusion Sales team is hiring a Director of Technical Sales to lead our global team of solution engineers.
As the Director of Technical Sales, you direct and coordinate the solution engineering teams to support the sales efforts of the Fusion Sales team as well as the manufacturing sales teams throughout the rest of Autodesk's Worldwide Sales organization. Your team has a diverse set of industry and product expertise in advanced manufacturing, engineering, and design. You work closely with the product teams to anticipate the upcoming product releases to ensure that your team is ready to support the latest workflows.

In collaboration with the sales leadership teams, you are monitoring the impact and usage of your solution engineers, ensuring that we have the proper skillsets, language support, and industry expertise to support each region. You observe and notice patterns so that you can optimize the sales efforts to focus on the areas with the highest returns. Leveraging our business analytics, you are analyzing each step of the sales process, making adjustments to get the maximum ROI from the team's efforts.
Your organization has solution engineers in three regions: Americas, Europe, and Asia. You leverage your global experience to understand the various cultures and styles to ensure the team is collaborating effectively in each region. As the Director, it is critical that you create strong relationships with the sales leaders in each region to ensure that your team is properly aligned with the unique needs of their regions and customer bases.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach technical sales leaders in the Americas, Europe and Asia
- Optimize sales process to gain maximum impact from our technical resources
- Monitor analytics to understand conversion rates, activity levels, etc. and adjust sales process and structure based on findings
- Manage Win/Loss tracking system, provide win/loss insights and reports to share with leadership and product teams
- Collaborate with marketing and sales leadership to support webinars and other demand generating activities which require technical sales resources
- Drive onboarding and training programs to ensure sales team is confident on industry and product
- Travel to customer meetings, internal meetings, and conferences (up to 50%)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience managing managers
- Self-starter, high energy, and results oriented
- 10+ Years of software sales experience
- 3+ years of technical sales experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $265,100 and $383,680. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries and/or OTE for sales roles, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
