Product Manager

ATS Scientific Products is searching for a Freeze-Dryer Product Manager to become part of our team. The Freeze-Dryer Product Manager will be instrumental in driving the end-to-end development and commercialization of cutting-edge products that enhance our customers' operational efficiencies and product quality. As leaders in the industry, we empower our teams to advance the science and technology behind freeze drying to meet the complex demands of our global customers in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and food processing.

Your responsibilities will encompass gaining a deep insight into customer needs and processes, keeping abreast of market dynamics, steering the product lifecycle, identifying and pursuing new product initiatives, and collaborating closely with key partners, including R&D, to ensure the product strategy is effectively implemented. This will contribute to enhancing revenue, profit margins, and the growth of the brand.

The role can be based remotely yet entails major interaction with our Warminster (PA) site and with our teams based on the US East Coast.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Identify and strategize for new market opportunities.
  • Evaluate new product ideas for feasibility.
  • Develop business cases for prioritizing development projects.
  • Launch new products to meet market demands and internal growth objectives, defining customer requirements.
  • Track and analyze product line financial performance, devising strategies for revenue and EBITDA growth.
  • Stay informed about competitors' offerings and market actions to swiftly develop countermeasures.

"Voice Of Customer" Role:

  • Develop thorough understanding of the company's products and competitive market landscape.
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs and product specifications for key markets.
  • Highlight product performance issues to stakeholders, pushing for prompt solutions.

Forecasting & Pricing:

  • Offer insights on product sales, market trends, and significant sales opportunities to aid in crafting short and long-term sales forecasts and production plans.
  • Determine pricing for current and new products by analyzing market research, competitive pricing, production costs, and demand projections.

Product Strategy and Collateral Development:

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Marketing team to grow demand and market share.
  • Create messaging, market positioning, and collateral for new product launches and campaigns.
  • Define communication objectives and propose marketing strategies for product lines.
  • Build and update a database of competitive insights, including product differentiation overviews.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of product management experience in scientific/laboratory products, preferably in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
  • Experienced in managing the product lifecycle, from concept to launch, growth, maturity, and phase-out.
  • A degree in Life Sciences or Chemistry is preferred, though an MBA is also acceptable.
  • Demonstrated financial and business insight, able to analyze, strategize, and clearly articulate initiatives.
  • Must be proactive, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent customer engagement skills, capable of professional interactions and clear communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in creäting and presenting innovative growth strategies to senior management.
  • Extensive understanding of the life sciences market, especially pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 40%, as needed, depending on base working location.

LANGUAGE SKILLS & REASONING ABILITY
Average verbal and written communications skills in the English language are a minimum. Must be able to write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions, and write technical correspondence to colleagues and customers. Can solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is normally performed in both a typical interior/office environment and the plant. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and is frequently required to sit; use both hands; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
