Your Role
We are looking for a Principal Lead UX Researcher to drive research informing investments across Atlassian's broader System of Work, including Global apps and experiences. You will partner with other teams across Research & Insights and the company to drive efficient, insights-informed decision making, identifying the critical opportunities for establishing and improving user experiences across the portfolio to deliver business success. Joining this team means you will contribute to expanding our over 250,000 customer base in 190 countries, having direct impact on tens of thousands of customers and millions of users.

What You'll Do

You will collaborate with designers, data scientists, product managers, and engineers to create innovative solutions for Atlassian underpinning our System of Work. You will be responsible for identifying, defining, prioritizing and executing the critical research needs, delivering measurable impact to the business. Success requires a background in mixed methods research, strong communication, storytelling and product leadership skills to drive vision and inspire innovation.

In this role you will:

  • Identify the critical research priorities, establishing a practice that balances speed and quality of research execution.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, data science, engineers and other cross functional teams to define the research roadmap, execute the strategy and deliver critical insights that move the business forward.
  • Be product opinionated, leveraging deep user, market, and competitor understanding to influence product strategy and user experience design.
  • Connect UX insights with our established brand and market research insights.
  • Provide thought leadership in UX and related research practices.

Qualifications

Your background

  • You will have 8+ years of experience in Research, including leading research strategy in complex and/or enterprise-level software environments
  • You will have expertise in applying quantitative and qualitative research methods to business problems, impacting both product direction and detailed experience design.
  • You will be proficient in hands-on research, with demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data to improve product plans and UX in a technology industry setting.
  • You will be a compelling storyteller and have experience with a range of strategies to drive engagement with and actionability of research-driven insights and analyses.
  • You will have proven expertise influencing business and product strategy, driving change across organizational boundaries.
  • You will have deep expertise building trusted advisor relationships with senior business leaders.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $204,400 - $272,500

Zone B: $184,000 - $245,300

Zone C: $169,600 - $226,200

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
