You will be a key contributor to the Jira Align Development Platform working to create and implement new functionality, better user experience through the use of client and server side code. You will also create responsive and interactive elements to enhance our rich user experience and via CSS. With your software engineering skills and experience you will work on items including SAML/SSO, REST API, integrations, new and existing features in C# and other Microsoft languages and scripts. You will use your database and back-end knowledge for creating and optimizing stored procedures and indexes used by the application. your understanding and experience in CI /CD pipelines will help improve and maintain our continuous integration processes.

In this role, you will be a Backend Engineer working on various aspects of the existing Jira Align platform and new initiatives related to it. You will work with team members around the globe daily and be a part of a growing team building and supporting a product used by many Fortune 500 companies.
With your software engineering skills and experience, you will work on items including new and existing features in C# and other Microsoft languages and scripts. You will use your database and back-end knowledge to create and optimize stored procedures and indexes used by the application. Your understanding and experience in CI /CD pipelines will help improve and maintain our continuous integration processes.
You will have a lot of autonomy and the opportunity to be involved in many different aspects of Jira Align.
- Build and ship features and capabilities daily in a highly scalable, cross-geo distributed environment.
- Be part of an amazing open and collaborative work environment with other experienced engineers, architects, product managers, and designers.
- Review code with best practices of readability, testing patterns, documentation, reliability, security, and performance considerations in mind.
- Ensure full visibility, error reporting, and monitoring of high-performing backend services
- Participate in Agile software development, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, and show-and-tell demo sessions.
- Keen interest and curiosity in learning new technologies
- Understanding of how to build performant, decoupled, testable, maintainable code
- 1-2 years professional experience in a software development team
- Fundamental software development skills
- Proficiency in web-based applications and architecture
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs
- Expertise with software development in .NET Framework (C#), software design, and object-oriented programming
- Experience with software development methodologies including Agile, Scrum
- Database MSSQL
- Understanding of browser/JavaScript fundamentals (ex HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery)
- Scripting languages
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Security conscious
- CSS/JS frameworks knowledge
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Experience with CI / CD pipelines
- Automated deployment and release management tools (ex. Octopus)
- DevOps experience building and supporting systems using a CI/CD pipeline
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $132,800 $159,40
Zone B: $119,500 - $143,400
Zone C: $110,200 - $132,300
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
