Introduction to the job

In Fab products, we create software to enable advanced node semiconductor lithography by improving process control. In this team, we develop software to design metrology targets, simulate their measurement performance, and select the best candidates to be used for production.

Excellent candidates will not only drive improvements to the software application, but also identify new approaches to improve metrology.

Role and responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Review and analyze requirements
  • Assess the impact of changes to software
  • Provide estimates of work effort
  • Perform studies to devise algorithmic solutions to physical problems

  • Design software algorithms to meet specifications
  • Implement software changes
  • Support product engineers to solve customer problems
  • Support software quality assurance team
  • Write unit-tests
  • Coordinate and communicate with other engineering teams
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Education and experience
    • M.S. in Physics (Computational Physics preferred), Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related areas, or equivalent experience
    • 3 or more years' of experience in numerical simulation, modeling, optics or similar (academic or industry)
    • PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related areas is preferred

    Skills
    • Proficient in developing object oriented software in Python and C++ in a Linux environment
    • Strong English communication skills
    • Ability to negotiate and reach consensus agreements
    • Proactive sense of ownership
    • Self-motivated
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
    • Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
    • Can learn and apply new information or skills.
    • Must be able to read and interpret data, information and documents.
    • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism.
    • Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

    • Identifies bottlenecks and drives improvements.

    • Work according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelines.

    Preferred:
    • Experience in Computational Geometry, numerical methods / scientific computing
    • Knowledge of software design principles and software engineering processes
    • Experience in Electromagnetic Simulation, Semiconductor process and Lithography is desirable
    • HPC - High Performance Computing (Linux/Unix)

    Responsibilities
    • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
    • U.S. Flexible Work policy may be available to employees who work in conductive roles. Mutually-beneficial alternative work arrangement must be approved by manager - hybrid working model.

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
    $143,250-238,750
    Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

    The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
