Technology development centers and training and application facilities are located in Asia, Europe and the United States. The Manufacturing Operations in Wilton Connecticut is responsible for the production of lithography tools as well as purchasing and logistics. The complete production process of the most advanced machines takes place within Manufacturing.

This position is based in Production Engineering Group within the manufacturing sector in Wilton, Connecticut.

Role and responsibilities

To realize 'World Class' support to Manufacturing in order to ensure highest product quality, short lead-times and 'short time-to-market' by continuous improvement of ASML's new and existing products and processes.

This position will entail working with other Production Engineers and Technicians to support the production of the Reticle Stage Chuck and Short Stroke Module.

Other duties and tasks will include;

  • BOM structure checks and component evaluations working and with D&E
  • Define and create Manufacturing procedures and specifications.
  • Introduce new products into production in an existing "Concurrent Engineering" environment.
  • Create and design production tooling & qualification test.
  • Generate technical work instructions and Test plans.
  • Support production issues with concise troubleshooting of the Electro-Mechanical systems and sub systems.
  • Evaluate and disposition failed parts with proposed solutions.
  • Review Failure Analysis Reports from suppliers and help validate the root-cause of the failure.
  • Create and direct equipment calibration, upkeep, and new equipment specification and procurement for all analytical instruments used in manufacturing.
Achieve specific goals for a designated part of a research program. Involves working within established research systems.

Plan and coordinate the identification, elicitation of of product and/or project requirements, conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment, document and manage requirements throughout the life of the project and coordinate the verification of the end deliverable. Generally done at the project level.

Conduct feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure. Identify feasibility questions and improvements in own domain.

Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.

Develop technical concepts including material choices. Make technical choices in all phases, solve technical issues, devise new approaches to problems encountered. Prepare high level design of the (sub-) module fulfilling the requirements set while addressing architectural and interface choices. Document the high level design in the relevant SEG documents.

Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.

Detail out the design including its documentation.

Integrate sub-systems into the system, execute configuration management, and provide support to projects

Contribute to the specification of Qualification-, Integration-, and Production- Tests, design and produce associated test tools, realize the qualification of the design by ensuring the proto production, execute tests and report results.
Develop product specifications and design test procedures and standards. Validate new or existing complex test methods and procedures; identify issues and recommend improvements to contribute to further development.

Adheres to ASML's EHS policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; identifies and mitigates safety risk and safeguards the environment and well-being of oneself and others. Instructs the team in safe working methods and identifies instances of risky behaviors within the team and takes appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.

Oversee the dependencies between project team tasks, assist PO/PL in planning, proactively signal risk of not delivering on spec and in time, take the lead in teamwork breakdown from features to daily tasks, deliver weekly deliverables, carry out assigned departmental projects.

Provide input to PO/PL for upcoming features in terms of content and high level effort estimates.

Document complex design choices and specifications in all phases to ensure product documentation is up to date and relevant underlying assumptions and restrictions are documented.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Mechatronics or BS in Optical Engineering
  • 3 to Five years in an Engineering environment.
  • Experience with precision mechanics, a plus
  • Working knowledge of Unigraphics and SAP a plus.
  • Experience with CMM equipment a plus

Skills
Stay up to date on technical developments in one's area of expertise and in general affecting ASML and contribute to the overall broadening and maintenance of ASML' s technology base. Acquire knowledge of neighboring FCs/ICs.
