Roles and responsibilities

The Supply Chain Quality Engineer intern is responsible for the Quality Management and Operational performance of a selected number of suppliers. You are member of a multidisciplinary team that strategically manages these suppliers. Main focusareas are driving suppliers to azero defects mindset, enable accelerated learning, perform (business) process improvements optimization and develop the supply chain to a high maturity level.In addition to being the quality interface between supplier and Sourcing & Procurement organization, the SCE intern will work with suppliers and ASML stakeholders on finding structural solutions to material quality non-conformities, driving business process improvements and managing the feedback loop with ASML stakeholders.
  • Responsible for Quality process and performance on "volume" products for suppliers and their n-tier suppliers.
  • Carry-out analysis of material Quality issues through structural problem-solving processes (DMAIC, 8D).
  • Drive technical solutions during material escalations (Material Notifications, Deviation Notifications, ASML Issue Resolution, Failure Analysis Reports).
  • De-risk manufacturing processes at suppliers by optimizing quality, testing and qualification infrastructure, configuration management, processes and organizational capabilities
  • Contribute to supplier development (e.g. implementing SPC, lean, FMEA, operational excellence at suppliers or n-tier suppliers), understand the needs of supplier and ASML and drive internal supplier changes to align.
  • Support implementation of Engineering Changes at suppliers on "volume" products.
  • Develops and maintain sustainable partnerships with supplier's senior engineering and management staff.
  • Undertake basic project development tasks to develop optimal process of managing supplier complaints within Supply Chain Quality Engineering team.
  • Obtain data for analysis, and make data-driven decisions among teammates to better the project, and drive changes for the long term of the business.

Education and experience
  • Current Graduate (Preferred)/Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Industrial, Electrical, Optical, Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing Engineering and/or supply chain management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Technical Production Documentations (TPD's), GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of geometric optics, wave optics, epoxy application in opto-mechanical designs is a plus
  • Experience operating basic tools and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and concepts.
  • Previous experience in production control, project management, root case analysis, material flow, manufacturing, process engineering, internal consulting, systems engineering, and/or warehousing.
  • Self-starter, seeks opportunities to improve processes, part quality, and overall efficiency.
  • Software skills: Excel, MiniTab.

Responsibilities:
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel dependent on business needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Role within the Factory

Responsibilities:
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
  • Must be willing to work a compressed work week schedule- twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a week.
  • This must include references to day and night shifts for accommodation purposes.
