Introduction to the job
The mission of algorithm engineer Intern is to analyze the optical metrology tool's data with new algorithms and improve the existing algorithms to support customer use cases. As an expert in the algorithms field, you will help identify the future algorithm development directions.
Role and responsibilities
Intern will play a key role in developing the algorithms for optical metrology application .
- Develop and fine tune optimization algorithms to extract the optical target information using the metrology tool's data and optical metrology tool model , including linear and non-linear regression algorithms, Akaike information criterion for error predication, cost function
- Evaluate the performance of different algorithms based on the specified criteria
- Present the analysis results and identify the improvement areas
- Other duties as assigned

Education and experience
- Must be pursuing a degree in Masters or PhD degree in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, material science, or relevant related filed of engineering.
- Experience in optimization algorithms, regression algorithms, covariance matrix, Bayes rule
- Proficiency in one of programming languages, such as Python, MATLAB, C/C++,
Skills
- Can learn and apply new information or skills.
- Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers
- Soft skill requirements: strong English communication skills, both written and oral
- Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability.
- Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
Other information
- This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
