Introduction

The Head of P&D (Planning &Delivery) for San Diego will build and lead the P&D function in San Diego. The responsibilities and scope of this position are in line at a Director-Level within the ASML. In the planning role, you will be responsible for managing the 0 - 3 year planning horizon for all Make & Buy parts, resolving demand and supply gaps, excess inventory, capacity balancing and overall plan reliability covering both ASML San Diego and Cymer global business. In the delivery role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the logistics network of the San Diego Factories and Cymer Spares Distribution Hub, including warehousing, 3PLs, reverse logistics, service operations and cost control.

The purpose of this job is to secure Material Availability for global semi-conductor customers and our integration and spares factories in San Diego while ensuring that goods within the network can be physically moved and stored in a compliant, timely and cost effective manner, meeting our customer (service) needs and agreed upon performance targets.

Role and Responsibilities

Locally, the role will be a key representative of P&D in San Diego working with the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement community ; the EUV and DUV Manufacturing community and the Cymer Business Line. Globally, the role will be the spokesperson and interface for San Diego Factories and the Cymer Business Line for P&D Veldhoven.

PLANNING:
  • Secure material availability for San Diego Factories to support customer needs in most efficient way and balance inventory/cost impacts with performance
  • Ensure seamless planning cascading from finished product to modules and parts in San Diego, guiding feedback loops between strategic and tactical planning teams; and in alignment with critical interfaces (Cymer business, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, Manufacturing and D&E)
  • Drive a holistic demand and supply plan on tactical (0-3y) horizon; integrating perspectives across end-item and material planning and full integration of NPI and Field requirements
  • Understand the risks and opportunities for business plans and drive timely decision making with senior stakeholders
  • Drive resolution of escalations and part allocation decisions in unbiased and business-driven fashion
  • Closely monitor accuracy and execution of D&S plan both to improve planning quality and methodologies, and to strengthen forecast accuracy to minimize material escalations
  • Facilitate the senior level Demand and Supply review meetings, enabling balancing of demand and supply by facilitating cross-functional adjustments
  • Provide thought leadership on planning methodologies and drive regional implementation for Make and Buy parts
  • Secure, together with strategic capacity team, capacity requirements to support future needs
  • Represent P&D in the PGP (Product Generation Process) by securing relevant deliverables in ASML development process to support introduction of new technology

DELIVERY:
  • Management and oversight of San Diego logistics infrastructure for both field and factory physical movements in a cost effective manner
  • Manage local 3PL relationships, supporting in negotiations for warehousing and logistics contracts in close collaboration with regional service warehouse management teams and global headquarters in Netherlands
  • Work together with executing sectors and Cymer business to drive and deliver global harmonization and structural improvement projects
Education and Experience
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) with at least 15 years of experience in the High Tech industry, having obtained extensive and in-depth understanding of complex supply chain processes with a strong engineering focus
  • Extensive experience and understanding of Supply Chain Planning and Logistics
  • Extensive leadership experience managing senior/board level stakeholders
  • Experience in Transformation Management and Program Management
  • Background within the Semiconductor industry is preferred

ASML Planning & Delivery

Planning & Delivery is an independent support function within ASML. P&D is responsible for meeting customer and business line requirements by balancing demands and requests from customers against a stretched, but realistic view of our capability, while also facilitating flow of goods in a compliant and cost-effective way. This is done transparently and in close collaboration with all internal P&D interfaces, including ASML factories worldwide.

The San Diego P&D Head will represent all P&D activities in San Diego, reporting into the Global Head of Delivery in Veldhoven, Netherlands. This will allow ASML and Cymer (a wholly owned subsidiary and standalone service-focused business line with its global HQ in San Diego) to benefit from local P&D presence, while leveraging global P&D competences.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$212,250-353,750
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
