Introduction to the job
Within the Silicon Valley Finance team, the Senior Financial Analyst revenue is key to enable high quality decision making for ASML sales generated by the Silicon Valley office. Collaborate closely with the Finance Business Partners, business counterparts of the Sales department and Business Insights and Control team in The Netherlands to optimize financial business performance. You will Develop, deliver, and enhance financial and non-financial analyses focused on the global sales of systems, upgrades and service business.

In this highly complex environment this position will look for standardization and automation opportunities that will provide the required business insights at an efficient and high (and consistent) quality standard.

Role and responsibilities

Responsible for providing critical business information to the Business unit, to enable the Finance Business Partners to drive effective decision making and realizing Business unit deliverables in time and within financial targets.

Requirements
  • Take a pro-active role in preparing and managing the short-term and long-term financial sales forecasts and monthly financial sales reviews ensuring high quality planning information in terms of relevance, context, accuracy and timelines together with the Sales team who are located globally. This also includes monthly plan vs actual analysis.
  • Identify, communicate and monitor financial sales risks and opportunities, and translate those into executable actions with aim to improve business performance.
  • Execute revenue recognition assessments of commercial deals, manage securing revenue and provide guidance to the ASML Business Services (ABS) team on financial processing of sales
  • Support in preparing complex commercial deals by executing financial analysis that will support decision making during the Deal Structuring processes
  • Drive continuous improvement through initiating and executing changes together with subject matter experts involved in the processes which enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of financial planning information, tools, processes, analysis and organization.

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, or similar field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in an accounting or control environment which includes revenue accounting and or revenue recognition assessments.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex financial processes and with planning applications in SAP BPC and related tools (SAP BW, BI reporting, Spotfire).
  • Experience in a multi-national, high technology hardware company and proven track record of quickly understanding complex content.
  • Extensive experience is using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint) and have worked with or are comfortable with learning (new) BI Reporting tools (e.g. Tibco Spotfire, wDesk or Tableu)
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and standards

Other Information

This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA . It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, training courses and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$96,375-160,625
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
