We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our facilities infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our complex mechanical systems, which enable the success of our manufacturing operations.
The Mechanical Engineer - Facilities will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and supporting the operation of major facilities systems such as HVAC, DI water, process water, chillers, boilers, pumps, exhaust systems, heat exchangers and roofing systems. This role also involves overseeing the distribution of process gases and liquids critical to manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of mechanical systems and experience in facilities engineering within a high-tech or manufacturing environment.

Role and responsibilities
Mechanical Systems Design & Optimization:
- Design, analyze, and improve mechanical systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Evaluate system performance metrics and implement upgrades or modifications as necessary.
- Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and maintaining HVAC, process water, DI water, chillers, boilers, and other critical systems.
- Develop and refine preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Design, maintain, and optimize distribution systems for process gases and liquids, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Monitor system flow, pressures, and integrity to support manufacturing needs.
- Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, including expansions, upgrades, and new installations.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency improvements and waste reduction strategies.
- Assess current mechanical system capacities and plan for future growth to meet operational needs.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential system failures.
- Maintain detailed records of system designs, performance data, maintenance activities, and project updates.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management, highlighting system performance and improvement opportunities.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities engineering with a focus on mechanical systems in a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in HVAC, DI water, process water, chillers, boilers, and heat exchangers.
- Experience with gas and liquid distribution systems, including piping, valves, and control systems.
Skills
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience in high-tech manufacturing, such as semiconductor or pharmaceutical industries.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, ASHRAE).
Other information
- Occasional travel to support projects or troubleshoot system issues across sites.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
