UNCW Dining Sustainability Internship
Position Overview: UNC Wilmington Dining Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated intern to serve as a Sustainability Ambassador. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students to engage in a variety of sustainability initiatives and gain hands-on experience in food service sustainability. The selected intern will contribute to key projects focused on local tracking, waste diversion, sustainable sourcing, environmental education, and more, while working with a dynamic team committed to advancing sustainability on campus.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in local sustainability tracking and reporting.
- Support sustainable procurement efforts for food and materials.
- Help organize and participate in sustainability events, including Fair Trade, Cool Food, Waste Wise Wednesdays, and other related campus initiatives.
- Provide general office support, including research and administrative tasks related to sustainability programs.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and quick to learn.
- Interest in sustainability, food service practices, and sustainable food systems.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with comfort in interacting with diverse groups in various settings (one-on-one and in group environments.)
- Current enrollment at UNC Wilmington is preferred, but not required.
