Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the preventative maintenance (PM), repair, and operational integrity of catering and concessions equipment at our venue. This role ensures all equipment is properly maintained to minimize downtime and support smooth operations during events. The Maintenance Manager will manage maintenance workers and collaborate with subcontractors as needed to address larger or more specialized issues. This role requires proactive planning, record-keeping, and tracking of maintenance efforts in compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Preventative Maintenance (PM):
    • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive PM schedule for all catering and concessions equipment (e.g., ovens, refrigerators, grills, dishwashers, warming stations, beverage dispensers, hoods, drains, grease traps).
    • Regularly inspect equipment to identify wear, potential failures, and ensure optimal performance.
    • Maintain detailed logs of all PM tasks and adjustments made during inspections.

  • Diagnose mechanical or technical issues and perform on-site repairs when necessary.
  • Provide fast and efficient repair solutions to minimize operational disruptions during events.
  • Manage the inventory of parts and tools needed for routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Tracking & Reporting:
    • Utilize R&M software to log all work orders, track equipment service history, and monitor repair costs.
    • Report on equipment health, required repairs, and capital improvement needs.
    • Prepare monthly reports on PM schedules, completed repairs, equipment downtime, and costs for review by the General Manager (GM).
  • Team & Subcontractor Management:
    • Lead, train, and supervise a maintenance worker who assists with routine tasks and smaller repairs.
    • Coordinate with and manage subcontractors for specialized repairs and maintenance beyond the team?s capabilities (e.g., HVAC systems, refrigeration, complex electrical work, plumbing).
    • Review and approve subcontractor work, ensuring it meets quality standards and project deadlines.
  • Compliance with Industry Standards:
    • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and regulatory standards related to food service equipment.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and safety protocols for catering and concessions environments.
    • Regularly update PM and repair procedures based on the latest manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
    • Collaborate with the finance team to develop a budget for PM, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
    • Monitor maintenance costs and recommend cost-effective solutions for equipment repairs and replacements.
  • Vendor Relationships:
    • Maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers.
    • Negotiate and oversee service contracts, warranties, and extended coverage plans for all catering and concessions equipment.
  • Emergency Response:
    • Serve as the first point of contact for urgent or emergency equipment repairs.
    • Respond quickly to equipment failures during events and coordinate swift solutions to minimize service disruptions.

  • Qualifications

    ? Proven experience in equipment maintenance, ideally in a catering, concessions, or large-scale food service environment.
    ? Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen and food service equipment.
    ? Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
    ? Experience managing and training staff, as well as coordinating with subcontractors.
    ? Proficiency in maintenance management software and reporting systems.
    ? Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the food service industry.
    ? Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    ? Certification or training in equipment maintenance (e.g., HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems).
    ? Experience in a high-volume venue such as a stadium, convention center, or large catering operation.
