Job Description
The Food & Occupational Safety Manager at the Georgetown University Aramark account will coordinate efforts targeting a holistic approach to assist the organization with implementation of safety and risk programs, processes, and procedures to protect people, property, environment, and company assets. This position will function as a strategic operational support leader to enhance safety and risk process improvements. This role will also function as a key point of contact for addressing operational needs as they relate to occupational safety, food safety & sanitation, and environmental compliance, employee training and support execution of all Aramark safety processes & procedures.
COMPENSATION: The salary for this position is $75,000.00 to $95,000.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant?s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark?s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct Safety Support, Coordination, and guidance for various business unit(s)
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations, working with all levels of the organization to ensure compliance safety standards/codes and employee protection.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate training programs, facilitate training, and promote safe practices and working conditions in a variety of environments and situations for all employees at the assigned business unit(s)
- Conduct regular safety/quality audits and provide feedback to the team to ensure quality services are being delivered.
- Lead and participate in incident/event investigations & communicate findings and ensure closure of action items.
- Evaluate current processes, conduct gap analyses, and make recommendations.
- Conduct improvement activities to address gaps and increase compliance with contractual requirements.
- Other QA and Safety duties as assigned by LOB leadership.
- Coach & Lead staff in accordance with location and Aramark safety standards
- Work closely with Aramark Safety & Risk Solutions team, WEG Leadership Team. Managers, District Safety Managers and Clients to review, implement and enforce Aramark's SAFE Commitment.
- Maintain working relationship with local and regional compliance and regulatory authorities (Local Health Department, 3rd party QA/ QC groups. And other regulatory agencies)
- Assist supported locations, site-based management teams to effectively execute against safety standard and requirements.
- Assure highest level of Customer Service and Quality control for all supported locations.
- Coordinate and Support Region/ District Meeting/ Committee structure.
- Ensure locations have the current Aramark safety standards and procedure documentation is in place.
- Effectively manage internal and external corrective actions processes to comply with regulatory requirements identify and address cause, and ensure plans are in place.
- Support new business mobilizations (startups, new openings) for the portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, food science, or Hospitality management is preferred.
- 5-7 years professional experience in safety required. Experience in management systems or certified safety professional designation preferred.
- Experience must include leading and managing a staff of professionals through major organizational change initiatives and driving results through use of internal and external (3rd party) resources.
- Diverse background/experience in addressing all types of safety exposure and a proven track record of developing and implementing sound safety management programs.
- A strong understanding of safety best practices (i.e., HAACP) OSHA 10 general industry and ServSafe food safety training.
Individual will have a direct reporting line to Director Safety & Risk Solutions. Must possess excellent communication, influencing and consultative skills with demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships from the C-suite to the front line. Individual must be client focused with excellent strategic and change management skills to drive and sustain organizational change around safety matters. Individual must be a team player and able to collaboratively work with available resources to bring optimal solutions to address diverse client needs.
Success in this position will also require excellent listening and needs assessment skills and ability to consistently deliver practical solutions to complex issues. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications required.
