Job Description
We are looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Front Desk Agent to join our team at Glacier Bay Lodge in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. As the first point of contact for guests, the Front Desk Agent plays a vital role in creating welcoming and memorable experiences for visitors exploring the natural beauty of the park. This position involves providing excellent customer service, managing reservations, and addressing guest inquiries in a professional and efficient manner.

This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of May 16 - September 5, 2025.

Employees are responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position. Job specific Environmental Aspects and Impacts will be communicated by Dept. Managers during EMS training.
Job Responsibilities
1. Guest Services
Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a seamless check-in and check-out experience.
Answer guest inquiries about room availability, hotel amenities, and park attractions with enthusiasm and accuracy.
Handle guest concerns, complaints, and special requests with professionalism, ensuring satisfaction.
2. Reservation Management
Manage room reservations, cancellations, and modifications via the property management system.
Communicate clearly with guests regarding booking details, policies, and pricing.
Optimize room inventory to maximize occupancy and revenue while meeting guest needs.
3. Administrative Duties
Accurately process payments, handle cash, and manage daily financial reports.
Maintain organized records of guest information, reservations, and other front desk activities.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to fulfill guest requests and ensure smooth operations.
4. Promote Local Knowledge
Share information about the park?s attractions, trails, dining options, and activities to enhance guests? visits.
Stay updated on local events, seasonal highlights, and park regulations to assist guests effectively.
5. Hotel Standards and Policies
Ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a front desk, hospitality, or customer service role preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with reservation systems, POS software, and basic computer skills.
- Attributes: A positive attitude, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for customer service and the outdoors.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable living and working in a remote or semi-remote national park setting.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
