Position Summary

The Core Feature and Calibrations Owner shall be responsible for Safety and User Experience Vehicle features and related performance tuning calibrations repository ownership.

Your Role

The VSE Core FO will support multiple automotive customer projects focusing on vehicle-level features with responsibilities of:

  • Safety 1st Mindset: Maintain a safety-first mindset abiding by all regulations and laws while using new technology and vehicle systems.


  • Feature Definition: Define the requirements and specifications of the feature, in collaboration with stakeholders such as product managers, engineers and architects.


  • ASPICE Model Requirements Development & Maintenance: Create, Maintain, and be a key stakeholder related to the features, including requirements, specifications, test plans, safety case support, feature performance/tuning/calibrations, and beyond.


  • Development & Performance Oversight: Manage the development process of the feature, ensuring adherence to quality standards through testing, validation, tuning, calibration, and feedback processes.


  • Cross-functional Relationships: Establish and interface regularly with various internal to APTIV and customer teams including engineering, design, testing, and program mgmt. to ensure features are implemented correctly and meets customer needs.


  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the feature, such as technical challenges, resource constraints, or changes in requirements.


  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep stakeholders informed about the progress, challenges and outcomes related to the feature.


  • Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve the feature based on feedback, data analysis, and market trends.


  • Customer Focus: Keep the customer's needs and preferences in mind throughout the development process to ensure the feature delivers value and meets expectations.


  • Decision Making: Make informed decisions regarding the feature, considering factors such as technical feasibility, customer impact, modular platform vs. unique, and business objectives while being data driven.


  • Agile & Adaptable: Work in an agile process environment and demonstrate capability to work w/ multiple unknown variables and adapt to program changes.


  • Passion for Real-world Product Experience: Show desire to touch product as part of in-vehicle testing to trust program results but verify yourself feature performance.


  • Leadership breadth and Technical depth: Show the organization your capability to lead in small and large team environments across diverse programs and progress to have strong technical depth for feature(s).


  • Accountability for Launching Vehicle Features: Be the Vehicle Feature & performance calibrations CEO.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 5+ years in the automotive industry


  • Current industry fundamental ASUX features and system enabling components understanding.


  • Masters, Bachelors, or combined Associated Degrees in Automotive Technology, Systems Engineering, Vehicle Dynamics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace engineering, Management/Data sciences, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field.


  • Self-motivated in team and individual tasks.


  • Passion for success while growing positive global relationships.




  • Fundamental understanding of the vehicle development process and key automotive milestones.


  • Fundamental understanding of ASPICE and "V" model development.


  • Fundamental understanding of the AGILE process.


  • Proficient usage of technical requirements tools (Polarion, DOORS, or equivalent)


  • A conceptual understanding of various vehicle system interfaces outside of ASUX.


  • A working knowledge of automotive module communications (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).


  • Solution driven: Ability to solve problems analytically, creatively, and collaboratively.


  • Lead with confidence: Thought leaders who empowers those around them.

  • Strong Multi-tasking (Multi-years of vehicle programs) and priorities management skills.


  • Prior experience defining, innovating, and publishing technical requirements.


  • End-to-end program kickoff through post-launch experience.


  • Basic understanding of global automotive regulations.


  • Proficient in using vehicle and log collection/analysis tools including Matlab, Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, VCDM, or equivalent tools.


  • Written and fluent spoken English.


  • Availability to travel around 20% of the time based on project needs.

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years prior experience in automotive (Either OEM and/or Tiered supplier) or relating complex engineering systems industry preferably within ADAS domain.
