POSITION SUMMARY
The Stamping Set Up Specialist, reporting to the Tool Room Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of stamping tooling within the department. This role involves managing a team of tooling technicians, ensuring proper setup of tooling, proper maintenance and repair of stamping tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize tooling processes and support efficient production operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manage and lead a team of tooling technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the effective maintenance, repair, and setup of stamping tools.
• Collaborate with the Production Unit Manager and other stakeholders to develop and implement tooling strategies, plans, and schedules to support production goals and minimize downtime.

• Oversee the inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of stamping tools to ensure optimal performance, longevity, and adherence to quality standards.
• Coordinate and prioritize tooling repair and modification projects, ensuring timely completion and minimal impact on production schedules.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and coordinate with internal and external resources, such as tooling suppliers or engineering teams, to implement effective solutions.
• Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation related to tooling maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
• Outfit the department with tools and procedures to improve setup success rate and reduce setup time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, quality control, and production, to optimize tooling processes, improve tooling designs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety inspections, and promoting awareness of safe practices among the tooling team.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in stamping tooling, and proactively share knowledge with the team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Ability to proficiently use various company-related and external systems and databases.
• Ability to proficiently use computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively with internal/external personnel, and customers.
• Ability to proficiently operate office technology and equipment (e.g., computer systems).
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet time sensitive deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage several tasks simultaneously.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of hands-on stamp press experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective team builder with a minimum of three (3) years direct supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to develop employees in a results-driven environment.
• Able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient with computers and demonstrated skills in office applications such as MS Word, and Outlook.
