Summary (About this Position):
The Aptiv Connection Systems team has an exciting opportunity for an Application Engineer. The successful candidate will promote Aptiv products with multiple Tier 1 Device customers and serve as the face of Aptiv engineering with assigned customers. The Application Engineer will pursue new business opportunities, build customer confidence increasing Aptiv component penetration and provide Voice of the Customer (VoC) feedback to our internal engineering and sales teams. The successful candidate will possess proven world-class technical experience, strong communication and organization skills. A strong focus on customer satisfaction, sense of urgency and bias for action are unwavering requirements for this role. The ideal candidate will bring to the organization technical acumen, automotive intelligence and best-in-class penetration strategies promoting Aptiv products as the preferred connection system. The successful candidate will possess a solid work ethic and be a great communicator with a knack for developing trust and confidence in Aptiv.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and grow customer relationships within multiple customer engineering teams
- Identify and evaluate new component business opportunities through customer interaction and communication
- Capture and understand customer requirements for new product applications (technical, timing, validation, etc.) and communicate back to internal organization
- Capture and summarize "Voice of the Customer"
- Provide Connection Systems Engineering Customer support (Prints, specification, Validation testing, samples)
- Support internal quote process (F3X, Pre-PXRB, PXRB)
- Support internal and customer reviews (design reviews, customer tech reviews, customer component evaluation, vehicle packaging review, etc.)
- Provide customer pre-launch/launch support
- Provide customer formal and open issue tracking
- Support customer and internally initiated change management (technical details, coordination, timing, etc.)
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed (less than 20%)
- Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements
Must Haves (i.e. Basic Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 1+ years of experience in design or manufacturing within the automotive industry
- 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing role
- 1+ years of experience within the automotive industry
Nice to Haves (i.e. Preferred Qualifications):
- 1+ years of experience in design or manufacturing with automotive connection systems including: housings, terminals and high speed cable assemblies, wiring design or manufacturing
- Master's degree in Engineering or MBA
- Ability to interface with multiple customers and organizations simultaneously
- Ability to forge relationships with customer engineering and business teams
- Personal stature and reputation to ensure ready acceptance
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)
- Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
- Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
