Summary:
We are looking for an experienced professional with a significant software development background to lead a large scale (500+ resources, $100m+ revenue) software and hardware delivery program. The Software Project Owner owns every aspect of software delivery, works across multiple teams, internal and external to orchestrate coherent integration and works with the customer to ensure quality, timeline and on budget delivery of the software program.
Your Role:
- Responsible for the software engineering customer communication for the assigned project.
- Work with stakeholders, customers, others to understand needs, split Capabilities to define and prioritize Features.
- Approve (on single authority) features as done at the customer project/program review. This includes validation that the Feature meets acceptance criteria according to the Definition of Done and has the appropriate, persistent acceptance tests.
- Collaborate with Platform and Program Architects to define both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Work with release management to define customer releases and solution increments.
- Work with Platform Architects/Engineering and Program Architects to understand and prioritize architectural work on a platform level.
- Assess metrics, including evaluation of business value achieved versus plan.
- Participate in the Pre- and Post-Program Increment (PI) Planning to define the inputs, milestones, and high-level objectives
- Demonstrate contributions at the Project review.
- Work with Suppliers, making sure the requirements for supplier-delivered features are understood and assisting with the conceptual integration of these concerns.
- Owns total software program quality.
- Aligns with platform/component owners on PI customer objectives

- Decides about release content, find agreement with stakeholders
- Makes decision on PI checks and Project/Platform/Program SW Milestone reviews.
- Decides about the release of deliveries in agreement with Software Quality Assurance and Release Manager
- Responsible for working with competency leads and/or Engineering Program Leaders in identifying and fulfilling staffing assignments for the engineering projects.
- MCIP execution to target.

Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree or bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant years of experience.
- 7+ years of experience in software development and delivery
- 5+ years of experience in delivering large scale software programs
- 5+ years of experience working directly with customers
- Expert knowledge of Software project management methods and tools
- Experience with Agile development/management techniques
- Experience with globally distributed teams
- Knowledge of SW Quality processes (e.g. ASPiCE)
- Experience with integration and functional testing
- Experience with monitoring quality using CI/CD and DevOps systems
- Experience in setting up quality gates to ensure high-quality software deliveries
Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering with relevant years of experience
- 10+ years of software development and delivery
