Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Motion Planning & Features, will lead a team of software engineers focused on ADAS algorithm and feature development. This role involves overseeing the recruitment, development, and operational efficiency of the engineering team while ensuring the successful delivery of high-performance automotive software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in ADAS algorithm development and have a track record of leading high-performing teams.

  • Lead the recruitment process for the software engineering team, including identifying staffing needs, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions to attract top talent and build a diverse and high-performing team.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding process for new team members, providing them with the necessary training, resources, and support for smooth integration into the team.
  • Resource & Project Management:

    • Allocate resources effectively across projects and initiatives, balancing workload and priorities to optimize team productivity, utilization, and project delivery timelines.
    • Monitor project progress and resource availability, identifying potential bottlenecks or constraints, and implementing proactive measures to ensure project momentum is maintained.
  • Performance Management & Development:

    • Define performance goals and expectations for team members, providing regular feedback, coaching, and guidance to support their professional development and career growth.
    • Implement initiatives to recognize and reward team members for their contributions, achievements, and milestones, fostering a culture of appreciation, motivation, and engagement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the software engineering team and stakeholders, including project sponsors, clients, and other internal and external partners.
    • Ensure clear communication and alignment of expectations with stakeholders, proactively resolving issues and conflicts that may arise.
  • Tool Proficiency & Support:

    • Ensure team members are proficient in relevant tools and platforms, such as JIRA, Workday, Microsoft Teams, and other software development and collaboration tools, providing training, guidance, and support as needed.
  • Mentoring & Career Growth:

    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development support to team members, helping them set and achieve career goals, develop new skills, and overcome professional challenges.
  • Project Definition & Execution:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
    • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables to ensure transparency and trust throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive software engineering, with at least 3 years in ADAS algorithm or feature development.
    • Proven experience leading and managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced software development environment.
    • Strong knowledge of motion planning, ADAS features, and algorithm development.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver on tight deadlines.
    • Proficiency in using software development tools such as JIRA, Workday, and Microsoft Teams.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • A passion for mentoring and developing talent, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in the development and deployment of ADAS systems in production vehicles.
    • Familiarity with automotive-specific software standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Experience in Agile software development methodologies.
