Your Role
As a Senior Java Back-End Developer on our Edge Builder web application team, you will design and build scalable microservices for cloud-based deployment. Edge Builder enables remote, over-the-air updates for vehicle data collection configurations, helping customers manage and analyze their data seamlessly. You'll be hands-on with all stages of development, from implementing proofs of concept to full project execution. Working closely with product managers, architects, other engineering teams, and external partners, you will play a key role in delivering impactful, high-quality solutions.In your daily job you will:
- Develop or adapt code to implement features, utilizing the best technology stack for each architectural need.
- Work within our tech stack: Java 17 and 21, Microservices, Azure Cloud and Azure Functions, Spring Boot 3.x, MongoDB, CosmosDB, MS SQL Server, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and Service Bus Queue.
- Propose and implement new solutions to enhance system functionality.
- Collaborate with the Architect and Development Team to document architecture and low-level designs that meet product requirements.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure the highest quality of our products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues in production environments.
- Modify software to address debugging needs, adapt to new hardware, and enhance performance.
- Engage in agile methodologies and participate in scrum ceremonies.
- Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented work environment.
- Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of our Kraków office.
Your Background
Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Java backend application design, development, and support.
- Practical expertise in Java 11+, object-oriented programming, functional programming, and design patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD methodologies and automated pipelines.
- Experience building RESTful web services using Spring Core, Spring Boot 2.x or later, and Spring Data.
- Familiarity with cloud-based microservice deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Docker Swarm.
- A track record of meeting deadlines and delivering projects within defined timelines.
- Experience using Jira for project planning and reporting.
- A proactive approach to creating a collaborative, inspiring work environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience collaborating with multi-site, international teams for project delivery.
