Purchasing Program Leader

Your role:

  • Coordinate and manage direct material purchasing activities related to assigned projects: BOM Costing responsibility (calculate and control the total cost of BOM), provide the best quotes and parts status data (Sourcing, PPAP, SA), when required, at the right quality, cost and lead-time, in accordance with Aptiv policies and SCM (Supply Chain Management) strategies.
  • Act as interface into the Aptiv Supply Chain Management Organization (SCM).
  • Drive all direct supplier/material cost related activities throughout all project phases.
  • Obtain initial quotes from suppliers and interact closely with Aptiv Category Organization to get target cost established
  • Support target price definition and supplier service level during project pursuit.
  • Coordinate with the stakeholders to ensure flawless program execution relative to supplier topics (e.g. SA, PPAP, Design change, Launch)
  • Identify new suppliers and new technology for innovative products.
  • Identify measures to meet/exceed material cost assumptions within project.
  • Secure activities relative to supplies and suppliers in accordance with Aptiv SCM rules.
  • Early involvement of SCM to Engineering activites
  • Ownership of project profitability
  • Assure compliance with local procedures and work instructions

Your background:

  • Master's Degree from commercial or/and technical university
  • Min. 3 years experience in Purchasing in engineering environment
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Dedication and ownership
  • Highly motivated / capable of operating with minimal guidance
  • Experience with large automotive supplier
  • English speaking
  • Good skills in negotiation and communication
