The Aptiv Connection Systems Team is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the North America Program Management Team. The Project Manager will oversee initial plans, set milestones, track project activities and communicate project progress to stakeholders. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to establish working relationships within Aptiv and acting as the main contact with customers.

Your Role (i.e. Key Job Responsibilities):

  • Lead team in understanding and executing Voice-of-the-Customer
  • Lead programs with a cross functional team in accordance with the Aptiv Enterprise Operating System (EOS)
  • Track and report program status at multiple internal gates and external customer meetings
  • Ensure all projects are flawlessly launched and risk mitigation actions are tracked to completion
  • Ensure projects are kept within the approved budget while properly forecasting capital spending
  • Ensure project timing is met as defined by customers (both internal and external)
  • Manage program risk activities and escalate issues as required
  • Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Your Required Background (i.e. Must Haves):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent technical field
  • 3+ years' experience in project/program management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Project
  • 3+ years of experience in the use of product life cycle and risk management tools
  • Advanced English language skills listening / speaking / reading.
  • Previous experience with engineering and manufacturing teams - products include automotive grade PCBAs, Injection Molding, Terminals etc.
  • Previous experience with direct customer interface customer and leading team support for project requests.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Project, Excel, Outlook, Skype, Teams, Visio, etc.)
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
  • Resourcefully innovative and adapts in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team

Your Preferred Background (i.e. Nice to Haves):

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent experience
  • Previous leadership experience within Project/Program Management, Product Engineering Project Lead, Mfg Engineering Project Lead
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn continuously, clearly establish expectations and hold others accountable for achieving results
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
  • Strong presence, poise and persuasiveness to establish a high level of credibility quickly
