You will be securing that the end product is fulfilling all customer requirements aswell as Aptiv requirements.

Main responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for designated wire harnesses to customer demands and according to Aptiv guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure that all engineering related specifications are available and distributed in time.
  • Ensure full change management and traceability in designated engineering change system. Act as change owner.
  • Maintain good customer relationship.
  • Actively contribute in cross functional project team.
  • Be the main engineering contact between Customer Engineering Teams and Aptiv manufacturing plants.
  • Secure and co-ordinate the Change Management and Release Management flow between the Aptiv manufacturing plants and the Customer Engineering teams.
  • Ensure close collaboration with our Aptiv manufacturing plants and Aptiv technical/service centers
  • Contribute to a positive working climate.
  • Support customer for ensuring drawing release according to drawing release timing.
  • Responsible for keeping track of implementation of all customer change requests.
  • Support customer in aligning harness design according to customer and Aptiv design guidelines.
  • Assure that all component related issues are followed up and driven by the relevant component team, both internal and external.
  • Work active with cost reduction on wire harnesses
  • Responsible for prototype and pre-series deliveries and builds including specify and issue the rework activities.
  • Keeping track of Wire harness part number changes by updating of cross-list or relevant engineering tracking system.
  • Ensure communication of all issues found in Customer and Aptiv plant is feedbacked to design responsible to ensure that issues are covered.
  • Change management - responsible to assure that all engineering changes have been covered by PCRs, distributed in defined ECM system and answered accordingly to customer.
  • Responsible to issue and follow up deviations from the drawing and assure customer acceptance prior to implementation.
  • Responsible to initiate and follow up implementation of new components. Secure that the items are followed up in x-functional component meetings. Support the x-functional team with specifications and customer info.
  • Perform drawing reviews with customers in front of drawing releases.
  • Work in coordination with the Engineering Centers to support BOM processes and ensure content is clear for each release.
  • Establish close collaboration and communication with your Manufacturing counterpart to ensure a flawless and fast feasibility flow.
  • Request and coordinate needed technical information and technical documents such as change requests, Component and harness drawings etc. according to Aptiv time plan.
  • Identify all drawing issues and coordinate affected counterparts to resolve any feasibility issues.
  • Ensure that drawings comply to Aptiv and customer design guidelines. Secure actions are taken on all non compliant issues.
  • Report escalation items to lead engineer and/or Engineering Manager.
  • Travel to Aptiv and customer plants when needed.
