This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment out of our Carmel, IN Technical Center.
Your role:
The Platform Project Manager role in Aptiv has the responsibility to lead front edge
technology Product Development projects. This person is the Single Point contact to the
Global Product and Regional Engineering organizations for project timing and execution
status by effectively leading cross-competency project teams. Collaborating with internal
and external stakeholders to manage engineering deliverables on time, on cost and on
quality levels with supporting documentation.
Your Role:
• Responsible to prepare and execute Design Reviews & Stage Reviews in compliance

with standard Engineering processes.
• Responsible for the tracking of risk items and their associated mitigation Action Plans.
• Responsible for the evaluation and management of internal and customer technical
change requests via Aptiv's Product Change Evaluation (PCE) process, including effort,
timing, cost and risk assessments.
• Dynamically manage detailed and complex Project Time Plans ensuring all critical
paths are minimized.
• Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives ensuring improvement opportunities are
identified and Lessons Learned are implemented.
• Maintain repository containing compliant Engineering deliverables.
• Monitoring that Engineering execution is following standard work and that best
practices are followed. The work products comply with applicable organization
policies and procedures.
• Responsible for coordination and delivery of the product solution hand-over to the
Regional Engineering teams at the associated on time milestones.
• Provide Engineering budget input and meet Platform budget (resource demand,
capital, material, departmental expenses and credits) that represent product
development needs that align to Aptiv's Product Roadmaps.
• Responsible for the Product BOM that achieves a unit BOM cost at or below BOM cost
targets.
• Manage key suppliers ensuring their component development meets Aptiv's timing,
quality and technical expectations.
• Track issue burn down rates ensuring an on time glide path to expected product
maturity.
Your Background:
• Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Engineering
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Lead or Project Manager in an Automotive setting
• 5+ years of experience with Product Development Process knowledge
• Proficiency on technical reporting and summary
• Planning / organizing skills
• Customer and Supplier contact experience
• Ability to work in a virtual team environment that supports a global footprint
