PLANT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing all operations within our IAS manufacturing facility, with a strong emphasis on production leadership, safety, new product introduction, and compliance with business processes. The Plant Manager will have full responsibility for the plant's Profit & Loss (P&L) and will ensure operational efficiency, cost control, and quality management. This position requires a leader who can prioritize effectively and lead the team to meet both short-term and long-term business objectives. The Plant Manager will work closely with the Sales Team to meet customer requirements and align production goals while collaborating with the Global Operations and Technology Team to implement innovative manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Operational Excellence

  • Lead the plant operations with a focus on achieving and exceeding production, quality, and cost targets.
  • Manage all aspects of plant operations, including production scheduling, staffing, safety, quality control, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources, optimize production capacity, and ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and improve production processes to maintain a high level of operational performance and product quality.
  • Responsible for defining, adhering to, and continuously improving standards within the plant (e.g. Lean, PIAP).

2. Work Safety/Health Protection/Environmental Protection

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with legal requirements, especially work safety, health protection, and environmental guidelines throughout the plant.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to safety protocols, environmental policies, and quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a focus on order, cleanliness, and operational safety within the plant.

3. People Management and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, engineers, and plant staff.
  • Implement and support workforce development and onboarding programs to ensure that employees have the skills and training necessary to meet Business Process standards
  • Promote employee satisfaction and foster a positive work environment to improve overall plant morale.

4. Collaboration with Sales and Technology Teams

  • Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure production schedules align with customer demand and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Global Technology Team to integrate new technologies, processes, and innovations into the plant's operations.
  • Drive the industrialization of New Programs, typically resulting in an achieved and accepted Customer Run Rate before SOP
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

5. P&L Management

  • Manage the Plant Profit & Loss (P&L), including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
  • Ensure that financial KPIs (e.g., cost per unit, operational costs, and productivity) are met or exceeded.

6. Strategic Planning and 5-Year Plan (5YP)

  • Collaborate with senior management to define the plant's strategic direction and long-term objectives, including the 5-year plan (5YP).
  • Contribute to the development and execution of plant-wide initiatives to improve productivity, reduce costs, and drive technological advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field
  • Experience:
  • 10+ years in automotive manufacturing, with 5+ years in a leadership role (Plant Manager, Operations Manager, etc.).
  • Proven experience with P&L responsibility and achieving financial targets.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
