Your Role

As a Perception Algorithm Developer Intern in Aptiv's Advanced Safety & User Experience team, you'll help develop and refine the algorithms that allow vehicles to "see" and understand their environment. You will contribute to the next generation of perception technologies that power Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving, including object detection, tracking, sensor fusion, and environmental mapping.

• Assist in the design, development, and optimization of perception algorithms for ADAS and autonomous vehicle applications.
• Work on sensor data processing (e.g., cameras, radar) to enable real-time object detection, classification, and tracking.
• Develop and test sensor fusion algorithms that combine data from multiple sources to create a comprehensive understanding of the vehicle's surroundings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate perception algorithms into vehicle systems and validate performance through simulation and real-world testing.
• Analyze algorithm performance, troubleshoot issues, and propose improvements based on simulation and field data.
• Support the testing and validation of algorithms using large-scale datasets, ensuring robustness and accuracy across diverse driving conditions.
• Present your work and findings to engineers and stakeholders to help drive algorithmic innovation and improvements.

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or MATLAB, with a focus on algorithm development.
• Knowledge of perception systems, including computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning techniques.
• Familiarity with radar, or camera-based systems is advantageous but not required.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for developing innovative algorithms for real-world applications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
