This role sits within Aptiv's new product organization, which will be at the forefront of transforming the auto industry with cutting-edge technology.

We're seeking highly motivated Team Managers to lead the acquisition and maintenance of data for developing and testing automotive Interior Sensing features. Interior sensing is a new and rapidly growing area that provides life-saving products such as driver drowsiness/attention monitoring, seat belt recognition, left-behind child detection, and convenience features such as gesture recognition. In this role, you will bring the product vision for the next generation of interior sensing innovations to reality by working as part of a global engineering team to lead a team of systems and software engineers.

Your Role:

  • Establish skills for core Scrum roles - identify the key skills required for each of the roles needed within the team, together with their level. Make sure that the skills gaps are immediately addressed through appropriate formal and on-the-job training, internal transfers or external hiring activities
  • Serve as Technical Advisor for Scrum Teams for Cockpit SW areas
  • Develop cross-skill teams by hiring best-in-class, motivated, engaged employees who display behavioral traits aligned with Aptiv values and leadership competencies
  • Taking care of planning a proper introduction to the team, will ensure that the onboarding process is structured, consistent, and at the same time tailored to the skillset and experience of individual new joiners
  • Ensuring appropriate development opportunities to all members of the team by tailoring an appropriate mix of timely stretch assignments, arranging mentorship within & outside the immediate organization, as well as encouraging and sponsoring individually matched training & education opportunities
  • Evaluate & manage people's performance
  • Reward & promote team members according to their contributions
  • Preparing and participating in periodic Talent Review Sessions which are aimed at aligning the development opportunities on a broader departmental level, and through that securing succession to key roles within the Engineering
  • Provide input to staffing planning, which would be based on the knowledge of business requirements, newly won contracts, and product roadmap, as well as a deep understanding of current staffing levels, skillsets, and existing retention risks
  • Have a deep understanding of the team's work by staying close to the people and their activities, as well as through the development of visual performance & quality metrics
  • Continuously remove impediments that are blocking team performance
  • Drive Competency Excellence by fostering the culture of pursuing perfection
  • Build Quality Into Practices - support the quality through appropriate infrastructure & resources
  • Ensure the team's compliance with company processes and standards
  • Monitor consistency in executing Scrum Agile / Lean and use of supporting tools
  • Manage Budget & Capital Planning
  • Leading a team of approximately 6-10 developers.

Your Background:

  • Exhibiting advanced professional interest in people management, with a particular focus on employee recruitment, coaching & development
  • Well-knowledgeable about data topics such as collection, labeling, storage, quality control, access controls, distribution bias, and noise factors.
  • Ability to give developmental feedback
  • Skillful in applying coaching techniques in a business environment
  • Knowledgeable of and motivated by the concept of servant leadership
  • Ability to work in complex, matrix organizations for the benefit of the team
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use visualizations & metrics dashboards to convey key messages
  • Courage to conduct critical conversations
  • Bravery to experiment and empower
  • 5+ years' experience and above of relevant experience
