Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Embedded Software Sourcing Specialist to drive strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management for automotive embedded software solutions. This role requires a candidate with an in-depth understanding of embedded software used in automotive applications, knowledge of industry standards, and experience in managing supplier relationships to optimize quality, cost, and compliance. The Embedded Software Sourcing Specialist will play a key role in the selection, negotiation, and lifecycle management of software suppliers for critical vehicle programs.

Your Role:
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Selection
- Develop sourcing strategies for embedded software solutions, supporting current and future vehicle programs.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers, focusing on cost-effectiveness, technical expertise, innovation, and alignment with company standards.
- Lead the RFP/RFQ process for new and existing embedded software projects, ensuring technical, commercial, and strategic goals are met.
- Contract Negotiation & Management
- Negotiate software licensing, intellectual property (IP) rights, cybersecurity requirements, warranty, and liability terms with software suppliers.
- Structure contracts that protect the company's interests, ensure compliance with automotive standards, and establish long-term supplier partnerships.
- Collaborate with legal and technical teams to manage risk and establish software usage and licensing rights.
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with software suppliers, managing supplier performance, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers to assess adherence to quality, service, cost, and compliance standards.
- Manage communication between internal technical teams and suppliers, facilitating collaboration on software version control, updates, and bug fixes.
- Cost Management & Optimization
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, benchmarking, and negotiations to ensure the best value for embedded software purchases.
- Monitor industry trends, cost drivers, and pricing structures to recommend and implement cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the development and tracking of budgets and cost models for software sourcing.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure supplier adherence to regulatory standards and industry certifications, including ASPICE, ISO 26262, and cybersecurity requirements (ISO/SAE 21434).
- Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and compliance with global standards.
- Stay informed of emerging trends in automotive software, including regulatory updates and new standards.
Your Background:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master's in Engineering) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in procurement or sourcing, with at least 3 years of experience specifically in embedded software for the automotive industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in sourcing and managing contracts for complex software components, including negotiation of software licensing and IP terms.
- Strong understanding of embedded software applications in automotive systems (e.g., ADAS, infotainment, powertrain control).
- Technical Knowledge:
- Knowledge of automotive software standards (ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR) and cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434).
- Familiarity with software lifecycle management and software development processes.
- Understanding of automotive electronic systems and how software integrates with hardware in vehicle platforms.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple levels.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) or project management (PMP).
- Experience in a global or cross-functional team environment.
- Knowledge of emerging automotive technologies such as autonomous driving, connectivity, and IoT.
